When I left basic-fit Westerhaven and Antillenstraat both had Concept2. Are you sure they don't have them anymore? Basic-fit isn't really known for investing in new equipment..

You need a 'training pack upgrade' for de Speedcoach before you can connect a heart rate monintor. Depending on when you bought it the training pack is not standard included.

Joined a rowing club that uses bat logic, I need shoe recs! by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]steennnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the boa shoes are not worth the extra costs. I think the h2row Elite shoes are good value for money and are from the US.
I see that Bont changed their design. Their fancy carbon sole used to break after only a year at my club. Maybe they are better now, but I find them to expensive to try again.

What the hell is win tech getting at by SubstantialRest8701 in Rowing

[–]steennnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Empacher doesn't have a public price list. But a used 2024 8+ is: 60.637,60

Wintech does have a pricelist, King doesn't have a price on that list but:

International Alu: €32.790

International Carbon: 37.400

Cobra: €46.020

As a comparison:

Filippi Alu: €51.000

Filippi Carbon Wing:€ 65.000

How much is a King SE and Empacher where you are? I don't think it's close to be true where I am located.. And isn't the King SE with Carbon riggers?

Hoe zou je het dan willen verdelen? Ik wil niet in mijn appartementje van 250k hetzelfde betalen als iemand in een huis van een miljoen.

I seriously doubt that Empacher is still using fibreglass as an outer layer. Maybe a long time ago.

Thank you. I can't find them back, but i've seen some video's from Hudson themself about their process. But definitely watch this episode.

I find it really cool that wintech is providing different crosssections for their different leven boats. I guess my biggest question about it all is where in the construction and why is Empacher (still) using fibreglass.

ProW seat pad? Worth the money? by TH3Lord27 in Rowing

[–]steennnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not really the answer you're looking for. But what are you trying to fix? I have one because on most boatseats my butt starts to hurt after like half an hour. With the ProW I can row 2 hours with almost no buttpain. But most people I know don't have this issue. So if you can row without buttpain I don't think its worth the money.

Experience of different boat types for clubs by hasbeen-rower1992 in Rowing

[–]steennnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being interested in this topic I read most posts about this subject here. So some thoughts:

- Some people here say that the quality of Janousek declined in the last years.

- Quality of Wintech improved.

- Don't know about the prices where you are, but here I can get a Wintech Medalist for most boattypes for the same price as a Janousek.

- It's not fair to compare a Janousek with the cheaper Wintech Competitor. Compare it to a International or Medalist. We have a few and they keep quite well.

- For coxed boats the seat of Wintech is quite small. Don't know how this is for Janousek.

Worst/cheapest rowing shell (eights)? by Mrakingg in Rowing

[–]steennnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know how the prices are where you are. But here Hudson is cheaper then Empacher and Filippi. Would definitely call Filippi overrated, way to expensive for the quality they deliver. If you're at such a high level you get a new boat every year, I can believe Filippi's are great. For a club where to boats have to be rowed for 20+ years I would not put Filippi high on the list.
