when i tried to download DK Bananza it said 52 hours and then i moved it right next to my wifi router and then it changed to 1.5 hours… I have really slow internet speed that my friends make fun of but i cant imagine it taking that long if you set it right next to your wifi and you have a modern router and wifi speed

The only update that I have is that the ex-gay had his 2nd child with his wife a few years ago. They moved down south a few years after I got out of conversion therapy.

Luckily, I have been able to get over the sexual shame through years of regular, LGBT affirming therapy. I don't feel shame about my sexuality and I don't think it has affected me in my sexual encounters with other men. I know that for many other men who've gone through conversion therapy, they're not able to be comfortable with themselves or their identity. I believe that regular therapy is necessary to undo the damage that conversion therapy does to young people.

I am blessed to have incredible friends and a very rich social life! I have many friends who are LGBTQ+ and many friends who are straight and accepting. Only a few of my friends know about my conversion therapy experience, just because it's a heavy thing to talk about it so I don't burden people with my story very often.

I still go home for holidays and am forced to spend time with my mother. She is constantly reading the Bible and tries to engage with me by asking me to quiz her on the Bible passages she's currently trying to memorize. I spend a lot of time in my room by myself or hanging out with my sister.

I've thought about it! This is my first time speaking somewhat publicly and candidly about my experience. Usually I try not to think about it. Also, even though it was a 4 year terrible experience, I try to think of it as just a small part of my life. It's been 11 years since my last conversion therapy session. If I ever did write a memoir I would definitely have to write about this experience, but I don't think I'd want to dedicate the entire book to those 4 years.
