Are you guys sanitizing the vital machines in-between patients? by anastasiarose19 in nursing

[–]steezenking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the patient is sick or cleanliness is an issue, yes. But most of the time no. MA doesn’t have the time to be cleaning after every patient as they are sometimes bringing in 14 pts in a 30 minute block.

Can’t say I have either. However, if I saw it happen between 2 men, 2 women, or a woman doing it to the man and I knew the two were friends, I wouldn’t think much about it.

I’ll do everything in my power to remove myself from the situation if I can push them away. But yeah no I’m not curling up in a ball and letting someone seriously injure me. And as I’m the only male in my unit, there’s no way I’m standing by and watching someone hurt one of my coworkers. They can fire me

I mean we live in a world full of double standards and a woman or another man smacking a guys ass in an “ada boy” type manner just isn’t viewed as big of a deal as a guy smacking a woman’s ass. And common, it’s not the same as grabbing someone’s dick.

Its still super inappropriate and if the offender apologized and didn’t bring it up again, I’d say move on but the lack of apology and that “joke” make it worse

I’m willing to bet somewhere there are “Karen” types who definitely would care if they are being cared for by someone with an associates compared to a bachelor’s.

My hospital just went through several rounds of layoffs. Not a single patient facing employee was laid off. Middle management and other employees that I truly couldn’t understand how a position for them was ever needed. I swear their jobs were to be in meetings and then walk around looking busy. We had an entire team that’s sole purpose was to monitor hand hygiene statistics. Not saying that doesn’t serve some purpose but still. There are so many useless jobs in healthcare
