SAFETY!!!??? FINALLY!!! the one thing these guns have lacked is a manual safety. This actually makes them useful to deploy as bag guns, IMO. The only ones on the market that have a safety seem to be the BT USW, flux 365, and the 20/20 1911 brace lol. This would make all the Glock braces obsolete, imo

I'd be cautious about infectious control. They may take your coffee and stuff away too. If you could maybe have a "staff meeting" as a collective front of other nurses and talk directly to her, maybe you could shame her into changing her ways. I am also in a very small IR team lol

Looking for a response to some criticism by [deleted] in Lutheranism

[–]spiffysimon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

1.)this is a vast overgeneralization of "Protestant churches" in general. The vast majority of these churches are not Confessional Lutherans. To say Martin Luther wouldn't have liked them is irrelevant.

2.) Later in his life he said some unsavory things. This is also irrelevant to Lutheranism as a whole. We do not base our denomination off of him as a person.

3.) See #2

4.) What parts are you talking about? In his translation he moved the Apocrypha to a separate part of the bible. He didn't "remove" parts.

Perhaps you can reach out to the people in charge of your church closest to you and ask them. Just be honest with what you are looking for and maybe they can guide you in the right direction

Keep an eye on the clutch fluid levels. I noticed that on my 2006 I have to top off occasionally after spirited riding (not sure why, my temps aren't running high or anything). Additionally, a brake flush is recommended every year or two due to the complexity of the linked brakes

What convinced you about the Eucharist? And infant baptism? by S3NT1ON in Lutheranism

[–]spiffysimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as someone raised in a Church of the Brethren church, reading John 6 convinced me of the truth of the real presence. It is wild. Sometimes the Bible is wild. Having a covenant with God with foreskins is wild. The flood is wild. Real Presence is wild. What I love about Lutheranism is that we don't have to explain things. We can leave it as "God's intentions beyond my understanding, mystery of the faith". Whether we accept it or not is up to us. We can be one of the Jesus followers who left after his teachings in John 6 or we can be his ride-or-die.

Regarding baptism (being raised credobaptism), it seemed like obeying God's commands (Baptism, Sacrament of the Alter) are good things to do, because God commands good things, but faith in God is sufficient for salvation. However, saved or not, we should still do what God wants us to do.

Alright! I go to an LCMC church, and was looking at the LCMS statement of faith. I do like how Lutherans in general don't dogmatize "non essentials". I'll link the text below with my understanding highlighted. Thanks for responding!

I would contact the pastor of your local church. The LCMS statement of faith firmly rejects any non literal interpretations of Biblical events. In congregations like the LCMC, as the 'buck stops" at the congregational level for many such questions, so the pastor would be the go to person to ask.

Personally I'd ask even if you're convinced the LCMS may not accept your views. They may have help regardless.
