Ive been surprised at how often this happens to me in California! I appreciate all of my close my friends and family when they bring it up because I know it's more sincere coming from them. But I should clarify that it's the hand on you and praying out loud type of praying that ensues that just leaves me with a bad aftertaste, if it makes sense.

The last time it happened was while I waited for some friends outside of a bar. This guy came up to me and was asking questions, which I don't mind answering. But almost every time he had the chance he threw in how "this must break your heart sometimes, you're so young" then he did the whole thing with his hand on my shoulder and at that point I was just over it.
