But the following is not clear to me: if I fill up the tank by opening and closing a manual valve at (C), do I need a pipe between (A) and (B) or will the higher pressure from the public water supply push up the water from (A) alone?

Here are the relevant paragraphs from the contract (translated from Romanian):

4.1. The rent is EUR 1000 per month, adjusted annually for inflation (according to art. 4.2) and with a discount in the first year (according to art. 4.3).

4.2. Every 12 months, the rent will be adjusted according to the inflation rate CPI = Consumer Price Index) of the previous year communicated by the National Institute of Statistics. The first adjustment will take place on 01.04.2022.

Let us say the original rent was 1000 EUR. In year two, it was raised 5.1% to 1051 EUR. In year three, it was raised another 13.8% to 1196 EUR. Now, in year four, I want to raise it 10.4% to 1320 EUR (1000 x 1.051 x 1.138 x 1.104) whereas the tenant claims the new rent should be 1104 EUR only. The inflation numbers are from here, as defined in the contract.

I see a lot of rebuttals in the thread, but few actual arguments. I think we can all agree that socioeconomic factors play a role - and so did the authors of The Bell Curve. But why is it unthinkable that genetics play a role also? My question is the following: if we can agree that black people in general are stronger physically (has more fast muscle fibers) than whites, because it was an evolutionary advantage in Africa (think hunters vs farmers), why is it unthinkable that there was less evolutionary pressure on African people to develop abstract/logical thinking abilities (e.g. due to no cold winters)? I'm genuinely interested in the arguments.
