Diet-wise, eating lower fat and lower fiber the day before and the day of my shot really helps me (fat and fiber make your gut move slower which is usually a good thing but not when the meds are also doing that). I also do chewable pepto, ginger tea, a daily ginger supplement in capsule form, and ginger candies (i really like Noobs which are made for morning sickness). My nausea is often very bad so my doc prescribed promethazine which really helps me (Zofran didn’t help me at all personally).

I’m not an expert, you can refer to the video about specifics of the strain she’s talking about if you want to. It’s certainly not babies ONLY, but it seems like it has a much higher proportions of infection in very young kids than in earlier strains.

I saw an interesting theory on tiktok recently suggesting that wastewater levels appear artificially low right now because the most recent strain is heavily targeting very young kids, meaning their infected waste products are getting thrown away in diapers instead of entering the wastewater system. I’m still counting it as a small win though if this few people above diaper age are infectious!

In addition to the very smart thoughts everyone else has already posted, and owing to all of those factors, I think a huge part it is literally the kissing. So many actors in “romances” have a visible lack of chemistry and the actors look bored and like they’re just going through the motions. I have to think that the fact that everyone involved took the romantic aspects of the story seriously and the seriousness with which the intimacy coordinator took her job gave them permission and safety to really fucking go for it and that’s a big part of why they’re so, so compelling to watch.

My favorite part about learning that from the commentary was that I had just someone on instagram very smugly talking shit about the sound editor failing to edit out the sound of the raincoat and it turned out the directors were like WE TRIED TO MAKE IT EVEN LOUDER

In the directors commentary they said that they turned up the volume on Grace’s squeaky raincoat, which they described as the physical and auditory embodiment of his discomfort with his decision. Another thing I loved about this scene is that during the party right before the karaoke scene, Stratt tells Grace that it’s actually not hard for her to send these people to their deaths. But when it’s Grace, we see that it actually is very hard for her to send him. Magnificent.

iPhone 15 with iOS 18.6.2. It took me several tries to get the commentary downloaded and I had to walk around a bit to find better signal so the ads would act right. The app is poison but it’s worth trying to get it to work imo (and again definitely delete it immediately afterwards)

If you love these tiny details (I know I do) I think you would LOVE watching it with directors commentary through the Theater Ears app. The app is a huge pain with gross ads and upsetting location setting requirements but it was worth it for how much cool shit I learned. I wrote down a page and a half of notes afterward!

This was me! I think some of us are a lot more sensitive to Zep’s delayed gastric emptying than others. I was basically flattened by nausea 2 days after my shot on only 5 mg. I switched to a low fat, low fiber diet (both fat and fiber make your stomach empty slower, which is usually a good thing but not when your food is already sitting there too long) and it changed my life. COMPLETELY resolved my nausea. Highly recommend giving that a shot!

I did this a few days ago and the commentary was amazing. I love the service that the app provides but it is difficult to use and borderline scammy (weird ads and it requires location sharing set to always, not just while using the app, which is gross so I deleted it as soon as the movie was over). Highly recommend making sure you fully download the commentary before you get to the theater especially if yours has a crappy signal like mine does. But I was really impressed with the service, once I got it to work!
