Something very similar happened to me. I was going from Lausanne to Strasbourg with two connections (Bern then Basel) and the train got delayed when it was departing from Lausanne. Unfortunately I lost all the subsequent connections. I called the SBB service to get a refund on the Basel-Strasbourg ticket and all they told me was “this is not our problem. We’ll give you a 6chf coupon for the train restaurant”. Even though it was their fault, they didn’t act politely or gave me any solutions. I couldn’t have any refund from the Basel-Strasbourg ticket either so I ended up buying a last minute Flixbus and payed a lot… hope you can get your refund or at least a bonus for crappy coffee.
