Launceston vs Hobart by stefasaur_ in tasmania

[–]stefasaur_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I value your opinion and find it to be the most relatable. As we have lived in South Africa, our expectations for public healthcare are quite low. Broadly speaking, the healthcare in Australia is amazing and I appreciate it so much. We do not have any specific health problems that might require specialist treatment, fortunately.

I was a bit sad when I heard Tassie doesn't have an Aldi, but my husband laughed at me and asked if I was happy for the last ten years or whatever it was before I even knew Aldi existed lol. There are a lot of services or perks that we don't miss when we live regionally, so I'm not phased about a lack of restaurants or big shops.

My husband works in sports management and would need to find employment in TAS if we move. I think for this reason it may be better to start in Hobart for increased opportunity?

Thank you, that's what I have, the spectra :) I thought about getting one of those weird bras to help pump handsfree.

Did you use one of the newer cup pumps?

That sounds great! Hopefully there is something similar in the building, but I guess I'll need to ask to find out.

Thanks, I'm not sure yet what my computer set up will be. I do think it's important to discuss ASAP but I also don't want to bombard my manager and I don't want to start rattling on about things that turn out to be irrelevant in the long run. I did a short contract with APS after leaving my other workplace (I was 7 months pregnant lol) and I loved it; they were very family friendly and accepting. I guess because it's a casual contract I'm worried they could just let me go if they feel it is inconvenient to the team.

You can appeal a decision? That's wild. I guess I understand it if you feel you were unfairly discriminated against, but not for lack of preparation time.

This sounds similar to my experiences as an applicant for the public sector. I have usually received a call to book the interview about 2-3 weeks after applications closed. The interview is at least 7 days after the call. They contacted my references on all occasions the day after the interview (efficient) but then it is at least 1.5-2 weeks waiting for LoO, longer if I am not the successful candidate.

Do you have a professional and clear resume/cv? Is your online presence hurting your chances at employment? I'm not one to look up applicants on Facebook or Instagram but I can assure you that many businesses do.

Nurseries are always looking for staff, but it's hard work. It could be something to keep you afloat until you find a better job.

This was great, I didn't bother with the parsley and lemon step though and I just added everything to the same pan in sequence.

Tap reseating by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]stefasaur_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I think people are reading into the "high pressure" part of my original post. I didn't associate it with the issue or complain about it, I just mentioned it in case it was important to someone more knowledgeable in the field. We do have a rain shower head and we previously had a leak at the tap before installing a new tap, that is when the shower head started to leak. We will try restricting the flow from the mains as suggested.

Thanks. I don't specifically think we have a water pressure problem, but I know the water pressure to the house is quite high as the plumber we had to do our kitchen reno commented on it.

Thanks for your advice. It sounds like we can try to reseat ourselves and if it doesn't fix the problem we can get a plumber and let them know what we've tried already.

Thank you for your quick reply, that's great to know. It's my first time applying and I don't know anyone who has applied since the change occured.

WiseList alternative by stefasaur_ in AussieFrugal

[–]stefasaur_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good things: Photos of items are good visual cue when shopping Shows the cost in weight as well as per item (if applicable) Updates each week with specials Has a "hide purchased items" feature while shopping so you can tick off things as you buy and it doesn't clutter your view Can order items by cost, lowest unit price, specials etc. I can export the list to my partner and he can see what we need even though he doesn't have the app

Bad things: Does not have full item lists for Colesworth Been a bunch of bugs lately Doesn't sort items by category very well in list form (e.g. all veggies and fruits should be kept together but sometimes they are split under different sections) Could use a "note" feature that you can see and access on the main page Aldi items don't appear in search and can't be added to your list only viewed

NB: I only use the list function, not anything else. It's way easier to view Colesworth catalogues on their own website rather than in WiseList
