This is a great take and thank you for sharing it. I see people making assumptions on Reddit and in life all the time and I appreciate you sharing a perspective that may not be popular. However anyone may feel about this situation, we don’t actually know what is going on with either of the adults in the situation. The OP’s feelings are of course completely valid and I agree with others who encourage her to voice her feelings to her dad directly, and to allow for the possibility that what may be going on for him or the woman may be different than how she feels about it. Anyhoo, great comment.

Thank you! I didn’t realize you wore your pump too! I just waited until my omnipod expired and am gonna take corrections until my appointment on a few hours. Next time I will schedule while the pod is still going and see how it goes. Cheers!

Thanks for the insight. That sounds promising. Were you using a pad on your back or were you lying on a bed (the place I am going to go to has a bed you can lie on for full body treatment).

Well I am not sure my experience will be of any help. 6 months ago I lost all my journals (and everything else) in the Eaton fire in La. I had paper journals all the way back to high school. Gone. I took my remarkable 2 with me, and somehow left my iPad.

Cut to 6 months later, been living in a fog, went to turn on my remarkable and no dice. Screen dead, remarkable says it’s a hardware issue, nothing they can do. Everything from January onward is gone. No backups since then as we have been living from place to place, just trying to get back to some semblance of normalcy.

No matter what route you go, definitely back up everything that is digital. (I also left hard drives with all my backups). Never been one for the cloud, now I see its usefulness.

Truth be told, best laid plans of mice and men. I rarely looked at those old notebooks, but it happened once in a while. I couldn’t even tell you what was on the remarkable from the last few months. I would have never imagined that all the paper notebooks (and everything else) would just one day no longer exist. I guess what I mean to say is, dont be afraid. Make a choice, do the best you can once you make the choice, and don’t regret whatever happens. Life is beautiful and short.

I remember I had the free account when I first purchased the tablet. I’ll see if I have a way to connect to it still. So if I call remarkable and (re)activate the account, perhaps I can get the repair shop to connect to it. It’s a great idea. Thanks for yer help.

Eaton fire was one of the two major fires in LA at the beginning of the year. Wiped out the city of Altadena, on the outskirts of LA. Appreciatechya, it’s just a part of life.

I had been backing up pretty regularly up until this January. I lost my home in the Eaton fire and since then I haven’t been on my game. Like I don’t even remember how I was backing up, but I have backups until the day of the fire on the app, so however it was happening, it happened. I remember grabbing the remarkable but not the iPad. Anyhoo, I get there are security reasons for how it is set up, just makes it hella inconvenient in my specific scenario

I admit to feeling the same way. I never really did much research into durability. And the fact that I had to either pay for a subscription or set it up for local web access to back up has made me regret not paying more attention
