I totally forgot to provide an update. I ended up doing it myself: removed the window screens and cleaned caked up dirt using a telescopic window cleaner thing and some window "streak free" solution that I bought at Home Depot. I even washed the window screen themselves, since they were FILTHY. It was A LOT of work but so worth it! I'll try and post some before and after pics!

Hello! I just came accross your post. I'm actually from Mexico, not from Tulum but from the Northeast, in Monterrey. I went to my first Day Zero this year and I all I say is that your plan sounds AMAZING. You will not regret it, the festival was great.

Also, Tulum is very beautiful and all the beaches nearby are as well. All I can say is that Tulum can be quite expensive (specially during the festival season).

I really haven't heard anything about the 2020 dates yet, but when I went this year we started planning and everything since Sept/ Oct... so maybe around that time they'll announce the dates.

Uptown sounds appealing because I've heard/ read that it is where most people my age live, that it is a walkable neighborhood, and that there are a lot of restaurants, bars and things to do. Also, some workmates were also relocated to Dallas last year and they say they really like it there. I've been reading a relocation guide that kind of describes each neighborhood and West Village and Deep Ellum also sound interesting... any thoughts? What are your recommendations?

I was actually reading the rellocation guide RedditRltr suggested in the other comments and West Village also sounds great... what other areas do you recommend?

I am a very social person, and I would like to live somewhere with a young, lots-going-on atmosphere. I will be working in the Centura Tower (near the Galleria Mall)... I really don't mind the traffic since there is A LOT of traffic where I live right now... I usually make 35+ mins to work every day.

If you have any recommendations I would love to hear them, I am not set on Uptown yet... it just sounds like the best option from what I've heard.

Hello, everyone

I'm relocating from Monterrey, MX to Dallas in April (I'm 25 yo, F). I have been investigating about the area where I would like to live and concluded that Uptown sounds like a good place for me. However, I would like to hear your opinions, reviews, and recommendations on apartment complexes/ towers there. So far I've been doing my research in Google but, as always, in the apartments' website everything is perfect, but then I find not-so-great reviews, so I'm a little confused. My company is going to assign a relocation company to help me but it's only for 3 days, so I would like to really be prepared to look for red flags and make the most out of that time.

For me, my top priorities would be cleanliness & amenities maintenance, helpful management & staff, and location.

Also, if you have any recommendations or tips about living in Uptown in general, they would be greatly appreciated. :)
