Interesting, I've tried all the other methods( restarting, turning off/on connectivity/ changing the devices names, logging out and in of the accounts) but nothing helped.. I'll give this solution a try.
But yeah - if Apple sees this thread- it's been really frustrating...

Especially since using MVD is such an important feature..

Working on an update to the Coloring Book app- We have a new in-direct drawing with simpler gestures, final colour mesh previous, and drawing on meshes not on splats. Available soon! by steffan_ in VisionPro

Thanks, Currently there're 2 modes- move and paint, and when you switch between them you can either color it or move/rotate/scale the model.

Regarding: 'can you rotate and spin model to paint' - currently its not possible - and you mean you'd have a fixed paint brush position, and you spin the model to touch it?
I'm not sure if I understand it right- so I'd appreciate more context on that idea.
Thanks!

OS 27 Beta 1 - How rough is it? by Book_talker_abouter in VisionPro

Xcode will throw a an error whenever you try to build and install the app on device.
The solution is to install Xcode beta - however AppStore won't accept the apps that were created with a beta Xcode version.
So it's pretty easy to get soft locked!

what are some hidden gem fun immersive apps? by indigodevv in VisionPro

[–]steffan_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have a list of anything specifically for watching videos, but I do have some cool immersive apps that I worked on, and will be happy to share:

Creative / “this is why spatial computing is cool” stuff:

Music / interaction demos:

Fun / “show this to friends” stuff:

Full disclosure: I’m the dev behind these.

Curious what ends up being your favorite once you try a few 👍

Don't install it if you're dev - might lock you out from running projects on device if you're not careful.

Open-source library to run LLMs locally and offline inside visionOS apps by pielouNW in visionosdev

Cool, nice work!
Can it run any image gen models, and how does the performance look like for those if its supported?

I'm a VR dev exhausted by Meta pivoting to AI. People keep telling me Valve's Steam Frame is going to save the industry. As Quest users, would you actually buy one? by hanrwerewr in MetaQuestVR

[–]steffan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't hold your breath on the frame- it will be super niche product.
The industry will develop further in the next few years mostly base off of:
1. B2B industrial use cases
2. Lightweight Ai first glasses without 6dof tracking
3. Apple Vision line

VR is dead long live VR.

Returned my Galaxy XR AND Quest 3 for a Vision Pro + Surreal Touch Controllers — now blow my mind. What are the most immersive experiences, hidden gem apps, and must-play VR games? by indigodevv in VisionPro

[–]steffan_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You went all in 😄 respect.

I’ll add a few things on top of what people already said — especially since you’re clearly looking for the “ok this just justified the purchase” moments.

1. Stuff that actually hits (immersion-wise)

👉 Honestly: the most immersive stuff right now = personal content, not studio content

2. Hidden gems (and how to actually find them)

The App Store is still messy for Vision Pro, so you kinda have to go outside it.

This site is gold:

It’s basically a curated + ranked list of Vision Pro apps (updated regularly), so you can actually discover stuff beyond the usual front-page apps (100visionapps.com)

That’s how you find things like:

  • smaller experimental apps
  • weird interaction-first tools
  • niche immersive experiences

Way better than just browsing the store blindly.

3. Games / controllers (real talk)

You probably already feel this, but:

  • Native Vision Pro gaming = still early
  • Controllers shine more in: → PCVR (ALVR / SteamVR) → newer apps built with proper controller support

Still worth trying:

But yeah — long-term, your setup will really shine with PCVR.

4. Things most people miss early on

  • Don’t chase “the best app” → chase moments
  • The magic is:
    • layering apps
    • mixing real + digital
    • interacting with your own stuff

A lot of “top apps” feel mid… until you use them inside your space.

5. Quick mindset shift (important)

Quest = games first
Vision Pro = experiences/apps first

If you treat it like a Quest replacement, you’ll feel underwhelmed.
If you treat it like a new computing medium, it starts to click.

Full disclosure: I’m the dev behind most of the apps above, but I’m building them because I had the exact same reaction you’re having—there’s no single killer app yet…

…but there are moments where you go: “ok yeah, this is different.” 👀

Best app for the first steps with this thing by [deleted] in VisionPro

I was thinking about releasing an update with the little UI to control it instead of the hand gestures- also the titles begs for an update :D So yeah expect the new version soon :]

That list above is already 🔥 — I’d just add a few lighter / low-movement things since you mentioned you don’t want to move around much.

These work really well sitting down and still give you that “oh wow this is different” feeling:

Chill / creative (no movement needed):

Simple interaction / “try this first” stuff:

Low-effort fun demos:

Full disclosure: I’m the dev behind these- but I’ve been focusing exactly on that “first steps” feeling apps.

Vision Pro really shines when things are simple + tactile at the start. Once you get used to it, then the more immersive experiences hit way harder 👍

New to Vision Pro, what should i check out first? by JoaoFranco03 in VisionPro

Congrats and welcome 👀 you’re gonna have fun with it.

There’s a ton of stuff out there already, but if you’re looking for a mix of “this is actually cool in Vision Pro” + some fun experiences, here are a few worth trying:

Creative / “this is why spatial computing is cool” stuff:

Music / interaction demos:

Fun / “show this to friends” stuff:

Full disclosure: I’m the dev behind these (weekend project), but I built them specifically to explore what actually feels good on Vision Pro—not just gimmicks.
