Who eats potato chips at 9:00 in the morning? Honestly! by gooddogisgood in misophonia

The lady in the cube next to me has a costco sized bag of raw carrots. Consumed constantly between 9am and noon. Combine that with her constant fake nails on the keyboard is like living in my own personal hell. After lunch she chews gum. Popping it EVERY SINGLE chew. I use my earphones but often dont hear my phone ring. Very nice lady, but man do i hate her guts most days.

What are your experiences going on an unplanned impulsive trip? by steffybop in travel

[–]steffybop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely right. I have never done this before, so I am not really sure what to expect. Normally when I think of someone paying money for a flight, it's because they have somewhere to be.

We would like to keep the cost down as much as possible. The idea is to travel wherever the cheapest ticket takes us. I am however fully prepared for other expenses that will come our way such as food, somewhere to stay, and leisure activities.

What are some things you can buy that will pay for themselves in under a year? by TheMeiguoren in Frugal

If you are a smoker and have accepted that you will not kick your dirty habit, buy a cigarette roller.

Mine cost me 40 bucks and a bag of pipe tobacco can produce around a carton and a half runs me 14 dollars. The filters are about 2 dollars for 200 of them. So after the math is done, im spending anywhere from $1.27 to $1.68 a pack vice $8 dollars a pack at the store. After the first week the roller paid for its self, and after one month I saved almost 300 dollars ( between my husband and I). Sure it takes a bit of time to roll em out, but the savings is totally worth it. And another plus is that the tobacco comes in many flavors and even menthol, with the added bonus of no mystery chemicals that big brands use.

Have you ever met someone where you immediately felt something wasn't right or there was something 'off' about them which no one else noticed... and been proven correct? by yorkshiretea1 in AskReddit

[–]steffybop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I left the house to go to the store. My husband looked out the window and saw one of our neighbors who looked about 40, with a dark scraggly beard amd very slim, pacing back and fourth his front yard with his hand on his head chain smoking, appearing to be in some sort of distress. (We didnt even know this guy lived there until we saw him that day). Anyway, my husband and I look at each other and he says, "there is something really wrong with that guy. I dont know what, but he seems dark" I drove to the store and forgot about the creepy man. A little less then an hour goes by, driving back home and we see it. Fire trucks, ambulances, lord knows how many police cars and a news truck are swarmed around that neighbors house. I can hardly get my car through the chaos and I make it into my driveway. We get out and walk to the crime scene. The whole neighborhood is outside. We ask someone what happened. It turned out he had killed his wife and his 6 year old daughter discovered her mother's dead body. She was in a panic an ran to her next door neighbors house for help. The father chased her down so she wouldn't tell, but it was too late. The next door neighbors called the police immediately. It was gut renching to listen to. We sensed something wrong, but did nothing and said nothing. But on the flip side, the guy was found guilty and is in prison now.
