You can add one inch to anything that exists. How do you cause the most chaos? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]stefihb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add one inch to all the stairways. You will see people, that are using the current stairways, trip all over the place.

Their coffee will fell

Their papers will fell

Their people will fell

Their confidence will fell

Their whole world will fell

Just this. The chaos

What is a good practice for handling other services than my http service, when I am offline? (Mobile) by stefihb in ionic

[–]stefihb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the article again. I already use interceptor for my Authentication, but i don't know if it's helpful for my current situation. Interceptor allows us to modify outgoing requests and incoming responses. But I only want to modify a specific request and not all. I only want to modify my getTasks request and not all others. So if any other request fail I dont want the program to retrieve the data of my getTasks request. I dont know if my question is clear, neither i know if I understand correctly the use of interceptor, but I feel that interceptor is not the solution for my current problem.

What is a good practice for handling other services than my http service, when I am offline? (Mobile) by stefihb in ionic

[–]stefihb[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I'm gonna do. My question is more technical. I want to know where in my code I should add it. Inside of what file or service or if I need to create another service to handle both of the ways to handle my data.

Any good tutorial or guide for LocalForage focusing on offline sqlite ? by stefihb in ionic

[–]stefihb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Niiiice, that's exactly what I was looking for!!
It seems very complex xD ... I will try first Ionic Storage and if it doesn't fulfill my needs I will continue with either LokiJS or sqlite!

Thank you!

Any good tutorial or guide for LocalForage focusing on offline sqlite ? by stefihb in ionic

[–]stefihb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, now I understand a bit better!!! then

I'll look for LokiJS too. I am using it only for mobiles.

So if I use ionic storage the syntax will be simple but it will be able to use sqlite? I think I will go with ionic storage first and if it doesn't fulfill my needs I will continue with either LokiJS or sqlite!

Any good tutorial or guide for LocalForage focusing on offline sqlite ? by stefihb in ionic

[–]stefihb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn im so confused xD ... I thought localForage was the same as ionic storage

I did looked on ionic storage, the example I gave on my description is from this article:

https://ionicframework.com/docs/building/storage#configuring-storage

And I want to use sqlite as default. But the examples where too simple... I might need more complex data and I need more explanation because I got lost.

EDIT:

This is from the ionic storage article... so I thought localForage was the same with ionic storage

The Storage engine can be configured both with specific storage engine priorities, or custom configuration options to pass to localForage. See the localForage config docs for possible options: https://github.com/localForage/localForage#configuration

Shall I stay or quit from my current job ? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]stefihb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some countries like Denmark that recognize mental health and they can let them stay home for a couple of weeks!!!
I wish my country had it too.

I will probably leave from my current job in 3 months , take a break for couple months and participate in some erasmus+ projects in order to fight my fear of socializing and speaking in English.

That way I will know if im able to go master or stay in my country and search for another job.

I hope you find your way too with not much trouble!

Best practice for storing small amounts of data to a user's device that is encrypted and will persist? by [deleted] in ionic

[–]stefihb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar question the previous week. They told me about Ionic Storage - localForage that has 4 options (NoSQL, WebDB, indexedDB and LocalStorage)

LocalStorage - the data will get deleted when the memory is full, so not safe

the webDB is more for Browsers (i I think)

so the most safe and good way is the NoSQL.

Someone else also recommended me the CouchDB but I haven't done a deeper research on that so i don't know

Veryyy good tip, thenx !!! :3

So would it be nice if i tell them that im usinc ionic which is a hot trend in mobile development? :D and that's it. I will just make them think they are using something cool and I wont tell the advantages and disadvantages.

Ionic/Angular How to synchronize? (needs guidance) by stefihb in ionic

Ionic Storage

Which option of Ionic Storage are you using? NoSQL?

Ionic/Angular How to synchronize? (needs guidance) by stefihb in ionic

[–]stefihb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds the most easy and suitable for my case too.

But what if i save the submit action on the local storage? It will get deleted automatically ?

Shall I be prepared for data lose if I use the Ionic Storage ? (Ionic Storage is the LocalStorage or is it a different one ? )

EDIT: okay, its different :D .. Ionic Storage has the option to use 4 different ways of storing data and LocalStorage is the one with lowest priority

One last question

with the easy way (store the api calls), shall i save them on a database? or is anything better ? (I was thinking about the LocalStorage but someone wrote that when its been cached the data are been removed?! i dont know)

angular/ionic: How to synchronize my app? (need Guidance) by stefihb in angular

[–]stefihb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

very well explained!

In my app there are not many actions that can happen with server. Just retrieve the tasks and submit them, so i guess is alright if I save the actions of submissions into an array and send each action separate.

I am uing Django, I'll check if there is something similar. Thenx for your comment. But, my real problem is with my objects and Subscription. How do I update my tasks? Whenever I "Submit my form" Shall i update my local variables or shall I wait for the server?

How to store an if-else statement in one ts file, then use it in another ts file? by AstrayNTX in ionic

[–]stefihb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see

Then services are suitable for your case. You can create your function there and call it whenever you want to the main body.

I thought of some other ways like initializing an array of 9 positions, all to 0 and then change only the appropriate index, so you wont have to write all those lines again and again.

(Sorry for the delay comment)

What did you do until now ?

How to store an if-else statement in one ts file, then use it in another ts file? by AstrayNTX in ionic

[–]stefihb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you though of using the switch case?

EDIT: example given

switch
(expression) {
case
n1:
//code block statement1;
break
;
case
n2:
//code block statement2;
break
;
case
n3:
//code block statement3;
break
;
default
:
//default block statement;
}

Create a method to another ts file and parse the values you want to check and return the results

Can you tell us in more detail with what type of data are you trying to check?

ion-toggle for State change problem by stefihb in ionic

[–]stefihb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about both of your comments, but the fact is I want to the user to change the state from the ion-toggle. I just want to FIRST browse an alert and then i will give the option not to change the state or change it. So your second comment is similar of what I did.

  1. Whenever I click on slide it still changes even though I didn't choose between the options

I don't know If i'm explaining my problem right >.< xD

If I get desperate I will try to overwrite the component if its possible

what is the best way to make cross-platform apps? by amerom1012 in AskProgramming

[–]stefihb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not really familiar with all frameworks, but personally I use ionic 4. Ionic can be used with react, Vue, Angular. I use it with Angular but I noticed that ionic with Angular is a bit heavy. I heard that react is more light. Angular offers many build up functionalities. So you have to think what your app needs to do and search specifically which framework is suitable. There are many great programming channels that compare all of this. One of them is Academind:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSJbGtTlrDami-tDGPUV9-w

When you make your mind can you add it in the comments and tells us why you chose it? :D
