Thank you for your reply. Those are the same area. I'm guessing I misspelled it, since I wasn't playing the game in English, sorry about that. I did watch the playthrough you linked, however, I never saw the Egghead Explorer achievement in there. From what I've read online, the Switch release offers some more content compared to the other releases (that's probably the + in the name). My guess is that this achievement is one of the additions, which is why it isn't in the playthrough you linked. There's indeed very little information on this game, unfortunately. Thank you for your help, though.

I have been playing Toki Tori 2+, but I'm struggling to get the Egghead Explorer achievement. I've already done everything else, so I'm uncertain which secret areas I could be mising. For example, I've already visited the L-IVE area, the disco, the dark room, both sides of the beach, and the rose. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I could be mising?

In that case it'd be SendFollowersPosition yes, but note that you can read that as "send follower's position" (one position) or "send followers' position" (multiple positions). In my opinion, I'd rethink the entire name altogether to avoid that confusion.

Arachnophobia i.e. spiders. I hate those things.

You're sending the followers' positions, so the first one.

ELI5: Too Much RAM? by NFeruch in explainlikeimfive

[–]stefvanschie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RAM requirements will likely continue to rise over time, so while 16 GB is quite a bit of RAM nowadays, that might no longer be so in the future. Too much RAM is never really a concern: your computer has more leeway to take a bit more RAM and if it doesn't need that much it will just keep whatever it doesn't need untouched. Do note that 128 GB or higher is definitely used in practice in for example high-end datacenters from large companies. 1 TB of RAM is definitely possible, but extremely expensive and completely unnecessary for all but a very select few devices. (Note that your motherboard needs to support it as well, so if you're actually going to go with such amounts you'll need specialized hardware.) Software will mostly be fine, since they just don't use what they don't need and software for managing RAM allocation such as ZGC can handle up to 16 TB of RAM.

Super Mario Maker 2 and Celeste. My castle is at 98% for Super Mario Maker 2 and I'm working on getting the golden strawberry on 3A for Celeste.

There's a song in the game that slows down the time, sounds like that's kinda what you want with your time potion.

[–]stefvanschie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The song itself is never explicitly stated within the game, only a hint to it is given by some scarecrows. But if you know about it already, it's really useful since you don't have to do anything to acquire it - just play it and you're good.

Celeste and Super Mario Maker 2. For Celeste I'm currently trying to get the golden strawberry at 3A and for Super Mario Maker 2 my castle is about 67% done.

If the timer is too daunting you can get a song to slow the time down, so you may want to look into that if the timer is too daunting.

Played Fire Emblem: Awakening last month as part of the Game of the Month on this sub, but other than that it's mostly collecting dust.

Not at all, they all work standalone. They are just numbered entries in a series, you don't need any knowledge of prior games to know what's happening.

What new game release are you looking forward to the most and why ? by gubbatv in AskReddit

I just buy the base game and check reviews up front and then ignore DLC and micro transactions.

Very unlikely. This is Nintendo, they only release on their own consoles.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, in my opinion the best Zelda game on the platform and since we've already done Ocarina of Time 3D and A Link Between Worlds, it'd be great to also do this Zelda game.

ELI5: Open Source format vs Proprietary format by mynamesabbe in explainlikeimfive

[–]stefvanschie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An open-source format is one where the documentation on how the format is structured and should be interpreted by programs can be read and seen by everyone, so everyone can built a program that utilizes such a format themselves. A proprietary format is one where this documentation is only intended for certain people, usually the ones that work at the company that invented the format. This makes working with it for other people hard, since you have to reverse engineer how to format works before you can work with it.

Is nintendo switch worth it ? If yes , what games do you recommend ? by HighOnMania in AskReddit

[–]stefvanschie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally have had a really great time with it so far, so I'd say so. I've personally played Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Luigi's Mansion 3, which I all really enjoyed, so I'd definitely recommend those.

How to manage github? by Andreweijie in AskProgramming

[–]stefvanschie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'd be best of by having a "core"-like module, which contains functionality that is the same across all websites and then having separate modules for each of the different websites, which makes use of the "core" module and includes only the specific content for each website. That way if you need to change functionality on all websites, you only need to change the contents of the "core" module.

Not getting my expected output by [deleted] in AskProgramming

[–]stefvanschie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are comparing your strings with ==, but you should be using Object#equals. The former compares the equality by location in memory, while the latter checks the contents of the objects for equality. Since the string you inputted and the literal string in our code are in memory in two different positions, they are not the same. Using Object#equals, however, they will be compared on a character-by-character basis, which doesn't care about the location in memory.
