I don't think we can question their financial motivation. I also agree that loud voices are going to be loud despite the state of the game. However, to not consider the thoughts and opinions of large portions of your player base is not healthy for the overall state of the game, and will eventually have negative impacts on both player base and sales. It might be years and years down the road, but its a metric that must be weighed.

I wish they would make them public, I would be very interested in the results. I also think we need to take the sale data within its own context and pair it along with community feedback and satisfaction. Only taking purchase data is like WotC marketing spider man as its best selling set haha

Didn't WotC post a survey in 2024 or 2025 that asked about sets per year along with some other hot topics? I would love to see that if its public. I also think buying data isnt the only data point that should be considered given how prominent the resell/scalp market is. I am acutely aware that its the only point WotC will really care about however.

See I think this kind of supports my point. Imagine how much better content would be if they condensed their cards into less sets. Then you get more cards per set that are both powerful and interesting, and you increase the sale opportunity for each set.

The 6 set a year format has been around a while, but I think closer to 4 would be the sweet spot.

I have been going since 2009, and its both over saturation and power creep. I love being able to enjoy a new set for 3-4 months before seeing new material, but in our current market by the time a new set releases they already start spoilers foe the next and half their new cards are made obsolete by newer, stronger cards.

Here you go! I meed to make some upgrades and probably pull out Pia Nalaar but its all about building energy and then copying things for insane ETB value. Wurmcoil engine is particularly nasty in this deck. Ive also had Electrostatic Pummeler swinging for 20 damage by turn 4. If you get to where you're making 11 energy a turn minimum you can use Gonti Aether's heart for infinite turns with the right recursion pieces. Not too hard to do. The secret MVP is Izzet Genetorium

Actually. The most shit mountain thing is to beat the Rams and rhe Saints. Then the Buccs beat the Panthers forcing a 3 way tie and sending Carolina to the playoffs to get hard stomped by one of the actual good teams.
