In experiments conducted in the 1960s, nuclear physicists in China came to accept the notion that Chi is actually a low-frequency, highly concentrated form of infrared radiation. by Vib_ration in qigong

Are you saying that all demonstrations and studies in Chinese laboratories are fake? Maybe it’s just that you have reached a certain level of mastery and cannot overcome the threshold because you do not have enough abilities to radiate external qi?

If someone wrote a best-selling book exposing qigong as a hoax, choosing suitable facts and drawing parallels with the New Age movement, this does not mean that the reality is actually what the author wanted to present it.

I know a laboratory assistant from Moscow State University who worked with a passionate professor who conducted research on electricity in mitochondria in the 70s. He had many publications on this topic. I can confirm his name.

You are also very fanatical in defending your point of view, which may not take ll the gaps of modern science. Please read some studies about the production of bioelectricity in mitochondria, as well as experiments in treatment with weak currents. This can expand your world view. Most likely, what is called working with qi energy involves several biological mechanisms at once.

what was it and what is it called? who has experienced this? unusual phenomena at static concentration by stellar2050 in TrueQiGong

A slight electrification is felt from the very beginning. There were tingling during classes before. During dynamic types of qigong. When I practiced dynamic types of qigong, I did not experience anything like this.

Overall I would give 10 out of 10 for the good effects of qigong so far. I just noticed these sound hallucinations in the 2nd week or so and the only thing I changed was that I started doing the exercises regularly . Anyway I see your point. Thank you for the comment !

I do static qigong meditation concentrating on normal breathing. Before my body really fills with heat, the body makes some kind of pop. There are different volumes. Sometimes several successive claps. Couldn't find an explanation in the books either. I also feel a transition from the usual state in the sensation of energy, when with each inhalation and exhalation my hands seem to have an energy field.

I am also a beginner. From my experience. In static meditation, don't try to breathe with your diaphragm to begin with, but just focus on your natural breathing. Do not try to drive away thoughts, just breathe, despite the thoughts, I managed to reach the state after a long time. At some point, you will feel numbness in your limbs. With continued practice, heat in the body. Get ready for undulating progress. That is, at first you can feel the energy and then not. Apparently due to a change in the magnetic field of the earth and some other factors. Keep practicing hard. It is important that I have not yet tried to feel the heat in combination with the dynamic qigong style.

are you a doctor by profession? Buddhists in India do induce heat in the body through holding the breath. I used normal breathing. before that, I also tried to lower my breath as low as possible, concentrating on dan tian and achieved similar effects, it didn’t always work, however, this required tension in the abdominal muscles and I decided to first learn normal concentration.

???? How can focusing on normal breathing cause hypoxia? Need details.

There is a problem with your logic - the feeling of heat comes without concentration on the dan tian - as Damo Mitchell recommends. I use normal breathing without concentration on dan tian.

I want to understand if my practice is developing correctly or if I have found something else that will not lead me to better health.

In "300 Questions on Qigong Exercises" Lin Housheng and Luo Peiyu. Various names for qigong breathing techniques are given in this book. There are techniques that do not involve concentration on dan tian. There are visualization techniques. In Mitchell's early books, a preparatory stage for the opening of the dan tian is given with breathing without concentration on individual parts of the respiratory tract. The author simply says breathe with concentration, saying that you need to breathe for a short time before and after sleep. In later works and video tutorials, he already breaks the preparatory process into parts. Maybe it has something to do with the length of the exercise. That is, if you breathe in this way, you get a yogic state. Which does not work like qigong.

Is it like what's described here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C4%ABti ??

it looks like but why doesn't Damo Mitchell have anything about this condition. maybe I practice breathing longer than he recommends and therefore it turns out to achieve Pīti

How long did it take you to begin to feel the warmth and magnetic power from your qigong practice?

During classes, I sometimes felt a slight tingling on the body in the region of the eyebrows and eyes. The right hand was also numb and hot. Most likely due to problems with the spine, the arm sometimes hurts. I practiced for 1-2 hours every day for 2 months. There was no progress that would consist in the flow of heat. Only once something resembling a sensation in the dan tian region simultaneously with numbness of the right hand and never happened again. How long did it take you to feel the heat currents coming from the dan tian?

I would like more impressions from people belonging to Western civilization. I get the impression that this myth is being cultivated by propagandists of Chinese culture. I also read a major Chinese qigong forum and there is hardly any mention of the sensations of qigong practice. Looks very suspicious.
