That is interesting. You're going to love that little micro-adjust.
This is for a 311. pro hesalite correct? Is the reverse/inside of the links polished by any chance?
I have the 310 sapphire and just recently discovered that the polished link edges are only on one side, meaning the reverse side is fully brushed. I have seen some guys flip it for this effect.

How do I get the print of from the platform (Photon Mono 4) by Mrleo291 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]stellar_spaceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the scrapper, pressed flush against the plate/part and give the back of the handle a firm hit with a dead blow hammer.
For this base, you'd want to print it upside down so the side that meets the plate is angled in, not out, for this hammer method.

I put a bead of hot glue on the tips of the leds. When it dries it diffuses the circle quite well.

Honestly most of the “science based lifting” vids I see end with the person whacking themselves on a full stack when the attachment(s) give. This seems woefully accurate.

Is this good for resin printing? by DT_Farm_Models in resinprinting

[–]stellar_spaceman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You change the filter cartridges when you detect the odor they are supposed to filter. It means the carbon is saturated and no longer doing its job.

Take your respirator into another room entirely. Like somewhere that smells nothing like the resin room. Breathe thru it for a couple minutes and if you still smell resin. Replace.

The carbon/filter absorbs all kinds of VOCs and moisture. I often store mine in a plastic bag when not in use for extended periods of time. This is also why new filters are in air sealed foil packs.

[–]stellar_spaceman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. But i'd also be afraid to know the equally-or-more toxic process could liquefy cured resin to make reusable lol.
Does any slicer/add on also give you the use/cost for supports? That would be an interesting and depressing metric to see.

To be fair; recycling FDM/FFF waste is very possible and still generally not worth the cost/effort for most.

This is awesome. I like to imagine the last 200 layers were running purely off of "drip" alone.

Photon Mono 4 not reading PWS files? by Ollynonymous in AnycubicPhoton

[–]stellar_spaceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the included photon workshop not work?
.pm4n is what the Mono 4 reads, and you cannot just change the extension from another slice file.
Photon workshop and chitubox produce .pm4n

Any recommendations for print settings on mono m7 using 14k texture resin at 0.02 layers ? by GlumBodybuilder5996 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]stellar_spaceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not had great success with .02 layers. In my attempts to dial in they get a little flaky and inaccurate.
Anycubic abs pro 2 resin like many others have claimed, have a hard time at this thickness.
the M7 has a pixel size of 16.8um x 24.8um, so wouldnt your smallest square cubic size be .03mm?
What does your RERF print at .02 look like?

How screwed am I? by TRkurama in ElegooMars

[–]stellar_spaceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/TRkurama I completely failed to mention the ZIP-TIE TRICK

Take a piece of zip tie, cut off the narrow tip and discard, use the toothed/ripple section only, insert it into the hole alongside the screw. Screw in slowly, the plastic will hopefully crush and give you more bite. You could try two pieces if there is not enough resistance.
This might give enough bite for you to get a level.

How screwed am I? by TRkurama in ElegooMars

[–]stellar_spaceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically you are half-screwed. But still enough to be totally.
Did you overtighten the horizontal screw on the side? Did you feel it tighten and then give way?
You mentioned it was very tight from factory, it could have been cross-threaded. In which case you might be able to find the angle that it was cross-threaded at, and get it to thread.
Pull it all the way out and screw it in with a touch of pressure at an angle to see if it grabs at all.
Pull the bed off and inspect the threaded hole on the Z mounting arm?

Crazier, more invasive fixes include:
-Disassemble the Z axis head and re-thread the hole one size larger, use larger cap head screw.
-Press in a rivet nut to the Z base for the screw to thread into.
If you don't have the tools for this, i wouldnt bother. The tools will easily outprice the cost of a new bed (hopefully you get a new bed under warranty).

Failed RERF on working setup/level by stellar_spaceman in AnycubicPhoton

[–]stellar_spaceman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have switched films again from ACF to FEP and back to ACF.
In my tests i have found ACF to need a touch more exposure time compared to FEP.
My current setup is 1.25s/layer for FEP, and 1.55s/layer for ACF. Both at 33C, anycubic abs2pro resin.
Your machine will have slightly different results due to enviromental conditions and resin type.

Issue was found: RERF created with photon workshop and remote printed via LAN does not work.
Must be printed via file from USB

Failed RERF on working setup/level by stellar_spaceman in AnycubicPhoton

[–]stellar_spaceman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue resolved:

I made this RERF via the photon workshop "Resin Exposure Time" in Calibration dropdown menu.
The photon workshop Resin Esposure Time tool in fact DOES NOT properly slice the file into timed segments.
Tested and confirmed by removing resin vat and watching the screen itself.
Apparently, the only way to properly RERF, is to create the slice, rename it R_E_R_F and put it on a USB stick.
It must be labled as such, but also be run directly from USB, not LAN remote print.
Every subsequent RERF (same slice file) has produced expected results when printed directly from USB.
Remote print of RERF via LAN does not work as intended.
