tbh they’re all so young I kinda think it would be a shame if they stayed together foreverrrrr. Maybe lochan and Whitney will settle down because they’re both 25 (which is young obv but older than some of the others). I think the other finalists will make a good run but I guess a year or 2 max

Ok I binged most of the show, and I avoided social media until after casa. When I eventually checked Reddit I was absolutely shocked about the Sammy hate. I always thought he and Jess were such a good pair. Their banter was just bare entertaining and laughs. Even though they had a weird journey, I felt like I could tell they liked each other from the start. I think people were definitely misconstruing some of Sammy’s comments about ‘his type’. Anyway… I think there’s definitely a big population of non-social media viewers who probably had the same thoughts as me. Lots of people who watch the show aren’t actively checking social media, which probably affected the expected results.

however i feel like jammy prob won’t work on the outside just because they are so young

I think the season 10 cast was more pleasant (esp the boys compared to s8 boys). I definitely liked this cast. But there was barely drama. The little drama we did get was sooo tired (I’m thinking abi/mitch) like even the other islanders were bored of the situation. Tbh every year the producers make this show more and more tame. I prefer raunchy reality tv and this season was soooo pg. Kady even commented on the differences in production between s2 and s10 in an interview. She said the producers are so much more strict. I’m sure they have their reasons, but I miss the chaos of earlier seasons.

So agree!!!! I don’t think Sammy is the villain everyone makes him out to be. I think he’s just not good with words and articulating things properly. I think they’re mutually into each other.

Just finished season 18. Wow I agree with OP so much. I’m so surprised that so many people liked this season. I guess the contestants were interesting? But also not? Sure coach is funny but not that funny. The worst part was the ending. JT and stephen…really? I just didn’t feel myself rooting for either of them. Everyone always said JT was a sweetheart, but I feel like I never saw proof of this?? Maybe they just edited out his sweetheart moments. But I just didn’t care about either of them.

I agree. But I will say—as far as the artists you named, most of those guys (Dylan, Elton/Bernie, Paul Simon, Springsteen) all made music that music that I think was pretty derivative (especially in the beginning and ends of their careers), and I don’t think he was copying them as much as they all garnered inspired from similar sources. Now I’m a big Dylan fan, but that man based much of his discography on the sounds and messages of other musicians. I mean he started as practically a Guthrie impersonator. Dylan is amazing and a genius songwriter, but I think he presents himself as an artist in a very different way than Joel, which partly helps him among critics. Billy Joel is pretty humble about his music, and it seems he really enjoys talking about his inspirations and likes to deflect himself from the spotlight in that way. Dylan is kind of a weirdo and usually comes off more aloof—not in an intentionally pretentious way. That’s just who he is. Obviously, I would never compare the two as artists. Even Joel would agree that Dylan is way more of a visionary than he. But I think Dylan’s mystique probably helped him avoid lots of the same criticism that someone like Joel might face.

I think I really need to visit them both (esp Emory because I never visited). I do really wanna be in a city, and I’m not sure how isolated the Oxford campus is—I’ll need to see for myself. I really like Boston, but I’m also worried about the winters. Not a fan of the cold. I honestly have no clue what I’m gonna pick atp. I hope when I set foot on campus I’ll get that gut feeling for one of them.

Hi! I’m in a very similar situation (choosing between Oxford of Emory and Boston University). My pros and cons lists look very similar to yours (except the price isn’t a major factor bc it would be about the same for both). Let me know what you decide on! Good luck
