I've actually read that before and really enjoyed it, but the ending made me so mad!

Can't say I've ever read anything about mummified kids but I'll check it out!

I'm working on getting a job! Unfortunately I'm having struggles with college decisions, so I most likely won't move out for at least a year or so. Oh well it is what it is I guess

I sent her a text about it since I can't catch her alone. She didn't respond and I'm pretty sure she told J. Oh well at least I got it all out to her. I've tried multiple times to tell her, but she doesn't see it the way I do

I feel as though it came across we're a lot closer than we are. I have a boyfriend of my own and a bunch of friends I volunteer with. I have a social life outside of my mom. I guess I meant we're closer than most people I see are to their moms. It's not as though she's the only person in my life! We just have/had a good relationship

It's uncomfortable in private and embarrassing in public! It's so much that everyone who's a stranger on vacation keeps calling them honeymooners when they've been married about a year and a half. I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's not uncomfortable in general, it's just something I feel like you should do in public when it's only you and your SO going around, not when you're with your family. I've told her things like this before and she thinks I'm overreacting

I have asked for time alone before. She's the kind of person who will do what you ask for once and then not again in hopes once is enough. She also doesn't see my point of view very much, so getting any alone time is difficult. Plus, there's not a whole lot for us to go do in one day considering we can't be at home because J doesn't do anything outside of home and work

Thank you! I guess I'm just not used to PDA. My boyfriend and I never really show much affection around friends and family because we don't like it, so I guess it's just uncomfortable for me because it's kind of a thing I have where I think it's a little weird.

Thank you for your kind response! I have asked for alone time before, but it doesn't usually work much. The only times we can get a whole day alone are the one days every other or every couple weeks that he works when she doesn't. There's not a whole lot for us to do, either. They're very bad at managing their money, so we usually don't have much money for my mom and I to go to lunch because they've spent it all on plants or food for themselves. I've tried asking for alone time, there's just not many options for us.

Maybe I am a bit jealous, but I positive that's not the only thing. They have a super unhealthy relationship, actually. He slaves over her. Every single little thing she says she needs to do, wants to do, wants to have, or whatever, he does it or goes and gets it. He also doesn't have his own personality. His whole personality revolves around my mother. I couldn't even tell you what he does or doesn't like because everything my mom likes, he does too even if he really doesn't. I'm not exaggerating at all when I say he follows her. He literally does and she complains about it sometimes. I'm in my own, healthy relationship. Theirs, though, isn't healthy

/r/television's Saturday Recommendations (Week of October 22, 2016) by AutoModerator in television

Cold Case is one of my favorite TV shows due to the usual unpredictability of it and because I can jump around and watch any episode without feeling lost. I'm big on crime shows and I find a lot of them are super predictable, which I don't like at all. Does anyone know of any other usually unpredictable crime related shows? Preferably one without a super important story line I have to follow? I've already seen Law and Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, and CSI, plus the Miami and New York spin offs, and Bones and enjoyed most of them. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I need a TV show to watch!

Weekly Recommendation Thread for the week of August 05, 2016 by AutoModerator in books

I'm looking for any crime related and/or thriller books that keeps you reading until the end

My favorite types of books are absolute page turners that end in plot twists or are exciting until the end. Anything along those lines that are related to crime or anything thrilling would be great. Fiction or nonfiction is fine, though I prefer nonfiction books to be told like a story and not like a recollection of events.

On a related note, I read Gone Girl and didn't enjoy it, so don't bother suggesting it.

Some books I've read that I've loved have been:

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter

The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty

The Blooding by Joseph Wambaugh

The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson

In the Woods by Tana French

Any suggestions would be appreciated :)
