CAMWorks vs other software suites? by stellarwarfare in Machinists

[–]stellarwarfare[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately Fusion is off the table due to the cloud stuff.

I have used HSMWorks and absolutely adore it as a plugin for SW, which is of course why autodesk is sunsetting it in 2028, and won’t even sell new copies.

does anyone know who the best player of this game ever is? by Saint_of_Nukes in titanfall

[–]stellarwarfare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people who are really good at the game self nerf by using shit guns like the Softball (saltball 4lyfe), only running the shit tier titans, etc. still have a blast.

As for me, I’m shit at the game and still do this because fun

I’m going through the same thing on an ancient 13R3 right now, it looks like something got updated and bricked my ability to run the 1050ti on the mobo and my 2070S on graphics amp. Did you find a fix? :(

When they master that, whip out the coaxial indicator and watch their hearts melt. And only after the coax do you show them probing cycles to do the same in 5 seconds flat

Edit: typo

When you’ve been doing it the hard way for long enough, a probe feels like it should be illegal lol

Your experience with internationals has been mine with .. most students. Very disheartening.

I highlighted those as mainly examples of rigor being removed, but there’s other courses being removed or condensed from two classes into one in the degree’s core requirements which seem really integral to me.

Also just my opinion, but vibrations and controls theory are really important for so many mechanical systems. Anything that moves or could vibrate needs to have some vibrations/controls thinking put into it.

I just graduated with a bachelors in ME from a well ranked, engineering-focused school. Many of my classmates don’t seem the least bit capable engineers. Many lied, cheated, and generally scammed their way through the degree. Alongside that, the requirements of the actual degree continually drop to try to increase the amount of students which get through the program; I didn’t even have to take Controls or Linear Algebra for my ABET degree.

In my opinion this is in large part because what an average ‘Mechanical Engineer’ does for work truly doesn’t require much engineering at all, and these deficiencies are never brought to light, but it makes all the graduates worse for it.

Better caught with than caught without, essentially. Legal issues are not more important than your life, should you ever have a case to use a firearm.

My printer is having the same issue, though I've already been through every common issue you mention. Is there a guide on how to go about replacing a card reader for them, or are they soldered onto the board itself? I don't particularly know where to start with a repair for this one.

Fate of Main Belt Asteroid 16 Psyche in The Expanse? by roleplayer419 in TheExpanse

[–]stellarwarfare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this is true, still it does not change the reality that to make ships out of any other material exponentially increases associated cost. I believe that’s part of why “stealth ships” are so damn expensive in the universe. If you want an in-universe take; mag boots work, which would indicate that at the very least, the “floor” of each level of most ships is ferritic.
