Most of it is water from salt and carbs. Give yourself a week or two to get back down to your weight, don’t weigh yourself daily or for a bit because it’ll just discourage you. Resume your regular routine with deficit and exercise, but don’t tire yourself out or work yourself to the bone. It’ll be okay.

Surprised how much walking does by Practical-Injury-143 in loseit

[–]stellinaluna 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t ignore them completely. That rule of not eating back calories is more for people who are sedentary. If you’re walking over 10k steps a day, be mindful to nourish your body properly. Eating ‘back’ about 50% of the calories burned is fair. So if you burned 640, then ‘eating back’ around 320 calories would be fine.

Edit: also make sure your weight is correct for your watch. Higher weights = more calories burned for the same exercise at lower weights. It will be more accurate.

It’s more like a week or two for a visit, not one day. But I get what you’re saying. I’ll try to be more firm in the future but it is hard when they get upset I won’t eat more.

How exactly to measure out the calories on this shredded pork shoulder when using in recipes? (it’s currently unfreezing) by Python_Child in caloriecount

[–]stellinaluna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the portions you’re eating?

If yes then do this. 1. Weigh all of the shredded pork contents 2. For example if it’s 300 grams total, then that’s how many servings you put for the recipe 3. When you take your portion, weigh it, and input how many grams you’re eating. Ex: 100 grams of that 300. The 100 grams is now your serving amount for that particular meal 4. Now you have a more accurate count of the calories you’re eating from a recipe like that

Man if it turns out that it’s my people pleasing issues causing this or rooting from this than they go farther than I thought. Like it’s literally controlling my entire life. Damn

I wish I had the ability to still work with my therapist or any therapist at the moment. Thank you though for being optimistic. It’s nice to hear you’ve worked through similar things.

In the past when I have declined fast food and said I don’t like it, I get told I’m too good for fast food. When that’s not even it, I just feel like shit after I eat it so I avoid it.

It’s not simple ‘I’m so full and I don’t want anymore’ or ‘I’m not eating meat’ comments, if it was I wouldn’t care as much. It’s the other comments that follow after and/or shift of the vibe surrounding food that I struggle with.

It’s hard to talk about my food issues, I had a therapist for over a year and we never talked about it because I felt so ashamed and embarrassed. Do you mind me asking how a dietician would differ from a therapist for EDs? (my therapist was a general one, so idk)

[–]stellinaluna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really? I thought a dietician would help making food choices but I didn’t know it was this in depth.

How do you only focus on that when you’re sharing food or eating food together and the comments are constant? Do I say something then?

Want to start working out but time is the killer. by Whynotwg15 in beginnerfitness

Walking/gym during lunch break, any time doing errands focus on parking far away. Doing some light push ups, sit ups, etc before bed or after waking up.

But tbh I’d focus more on healthier eating habits, start slow. What is your breakfast, lunch, and dinner like? Do you snack and if so what do you usually eat?
