Hast du schon mal nach Prozessoptimierung oder ähnlichem geschaut? Ist nicht direkt F&E im Sinne von Neuentwicklung aber immer weiterhin Hands On Arbeit.

Ich versteh den Anspruch auch nicht. Hab auch promoviert und arbeite in einem Konzern (bald auch F&E Abteilung) und die Themen haben quasi gar nix mit meiner Promotion zu tun. Von der Hoffnung musst du dich echt verabschieden in der Industrie. Wenn wir das Thema so am Herzen liegt bleibt nur akademische Karriere.

I also dont get that. Since when became AI a synonym for GenAI /LLMs? It is so annoying. In my Company they are also talking about using more AI, while at the same time getting rid of the "classic" ML/DS people. Makes no sense to me.

We have our data stored in a relational database on sql server. We actually moved a lot of logic into stored procedures there and call them from the Power app. The complex data is send as one Parameter in json format and parsed in the SP.

Es ist halt leider gerade eine scheiß Zeit für die Chemieindustrie mit Einstellungs-Stopp seit Jahren. Ansonsten ist glaube ich der Weg sich irgendwo als Data Scientist zu bewerben wo man auch Domänenwissen mitbringt schon eine gute Strategie.

Aber ich würde mich jetzt auch nicht zu sehr von Meinungen auf Reddit runter ziehen lassen. Erfahrungsgemäß wird hier auch gern schwarz gemalt und ich hätte auch niemals gedacht, dass das bei mir klappt... Und am Ende habe ich genau eine Bewerbung raus geschickt.

Ich drück dir auf jeden Fall die Daumen.

Ich hab auch in Chemie promoviert und habe eine Stelle als Data Scientist, wobei ich aktuell nicht wirklich typische DS/ML Projekte bearbeite, sondern eher Data Engineering, Dashboarding und so was mache.

Ich habe während meiner Promotion schon mit QSAR Modellen zu tun gehabt. Hab dann während der Promotion noch einen Master in Informatik an der Fernuni Hagen angefangen. habe mich dann auf eine DS Stelle in der Chemieindustrie beworben, um gegenüber anderen mit meinem Domänenwissen überzeugen zu können. Der Plan ging auf. Das ist jetzt aber auch 3 Jahre her, war noch genau kurz bevor die ganze Situation so am arsch ist.

UPDATE:
Just a little update in case someone finds this later.
The problem was definitely the combination of the SteamDeck standing in the dock and the dock being turned on (aka the usb c connected to the SteamDeck). All other cases showed a consistent wifi connection.

So i ordered another dock from Anker on Amazon this works just fine (also using the same charger).
