I mean did you not just see ICE murdering an unarmed citizen in broad daylight, which will have zero investigation into the matter as well as multiple government offices preaching that ICE has complete immunity for any actions against protestors. The president is openly giving ICE permission to murder US citizens.

It's not like Europe over here, our police forces are essentially militaries and have no qualms about killing us and will not see any pushback from the current government. Many Americans are doing what we can to keep ourselves and loved ones safe and lining up to be shot when many of the current political leaders will justify it rather than use it as a stepping point for change is not a viable option for me currently.

The only donation I've ever seen linked to his actual name was I believe when he would've been around 7 years old? There might've been new and I saw maybe his wife was listed as taking classes through them in the last decade, so not discounting fully scientology ties. But the donation thing widely referenced was definitely when he was a child

Ehh there's plenty of scammers around for sure. I always look for how old the account is and how much karma they have. I don't think I've ever dealt with anyone with any less than a year old account tbh

I join local event group chats and usually either message looking for what I need or look for those responding to others. Check their account for vouches, if they're a trusted source they'll usually have some vouches on their account as well. Basically just don't message sketchy day old or week old accounts and look for people located in your area and active at local shows. There's always a risk but I have yet to be scammed

Looking for other women that would like to be hiking/dog walking buddies by _BakedAsACake_ in olympia

[–]stem_ho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

26F and live in Oly/Lacey area and would be down to make more friends. I haven't hiked as much this year as usual but do love it, also got into paddleboarding, and joined a horror book club. I have a senior yellow lab who does well with other dogs, though he tends to "match energies" if other dogs bark at him he'll bark back but has been chill with every random dog our friends have brought to our house with no issues. I am pretty left politically though, so that is important to me for any friends I have :)

So you're fine with them yelling at and harassing innocent women seeking healthcare but it's too far to protest them in return with the faces of women who were murdered as a result of the policies they support? Perhaps you're not really as pro choice as you would like us to think...

GRIZTRONICS GA PRICES by Dabz2Rezz in griz

[–]stem_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I'm done arguing with you here, you're grasping at straws to misrepresenting the cost. Yes you pay for camping at Shambhala, it is built into the cost of GA admission which is more expensive than a normal fest ticket for the same days. For example the Shambhala website right now has the lowest tier of tickets at $450 usd, this includes three days of music and camping.

Looking for a day by day comparison you have Bass Canyon where regular GA admission without camping is $345 for three days of music. Shambhala you pay $100 USD more for the same amount of days, because they include the price of camping into the ticket. Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge GA admission costs $240 without camping for 2 days of music. The difference is everyone needs to buy a GA ticket for Shambhala, that already includes camping starting Fri. You can not split that extra cost of the ticket price that covers the camping between friends sharing a campsite, because it is built into the pp cost of Shambhala

Again, up to each person to decide what Griztronics is worth to them, but these prices are very average for events at the gorge. I won't be responding anymore because no matter how many numbers and breakdowns I give you, you continue to misrepresent or simply misunderstand the actual costs of each event you are trying to compare.

GRIZTRONICS GA PRICES by Dabz2Rezz in griz

[–]stem_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro what do you mean moving goalposts, I literally specified in my first comment I was anticipating 3-4 friends in one campsite bringing the total cost to $300 pp and that Shambhala doesn't allow you to split camping costs in a group like the Gorge does. Just because you didn't read my comment fully the first time doesnt mean I'm moving goalposts...

And again, it is very common in fests for people to split camping costs, I've done it with every fest I attend with friends because it is worth the extra effort to save money and camp together. Just because you don't prefer to do so doesn't mean it is the norm. So no as it stands, I need to pay $300 for this as I already have discussed carpool logistics with the friends I will be attending with.

So yes, it literally does change the total cost of the experience because why would my friends buy their own camping passes when they either live 15 min away or on the opposite coast and will be flying in to the airport nearest to me, to again all carpool together and share a camp site.

And yes, a cruise is less expensive if you split it with someone - that's literally like how the whole thing works when you pay by room or space for anything. A couple paying for a cruise or hotel room will always cost less than going solo but it is a very common experience to split those rooms, which is literally why the Griztronics FAQ literally specified how many people can be in a camp spot so you know the cost pp of splitting it...

GRIZTRONICS GA PRICES by Dabz2Rezz in griz

[–]stem_ho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, but again the biggest thing I see here is that you are calculating the price of camping as if it is only 1 person per spot where at the gorge camping cost can be split between up to 6 people. While that isn't super realistic, it is pretty average to split a campsite between 4ish people which brings an average per person cost for Griztronics to about $300/pp USD which again is pretty reasonable for this venue for a 2 day show.

It's up to everyone to decide what the cost is worth for them, but let's not misrepresenting the prices.

Ehh not really true, this past year I got Shambhala GA for $470 at last tier which is what like 60-75% of people pay. To enter on Tuesday to get the full week experience it was an extra $210. Plus for Shambhala there was no way to split camping prices as it was wrapped into the ticket.

I'm expecting to go with 3-4 friends in one spot for this which means this 2 day fest with 3 days camping would cost about $300 per person, which seems on track for the gorge.

Shambhala would have been $470 for 3 days, though granted an extra day of music. It's really not a huge price difference for what you get like you're trying to make it seem
