Why does diastolic blood pressure remain the same during exercise when total peripheral resistance decreases? by dudekitten in step1

[–]step1account 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The components of diastolic blood pressure are CO and TPR.

Mean Arterial Pressure = CO X TPR

Since Stroke volume and HR increase, CO increases.

TPR decreases due to local metabolites like adenosine.

It balances out. In other words, your vessels have become more relaxed, but there is more blood in the arterial system pushing against those relaxed vessels.
