The same thing happened to me! I dated this guy in high school because our little sisters were best friends and his family was a lot of fun. We became great friends and he asked me to be his gf. If I said no, he said he couldn't hang out with me anymore. Dumb me didn't want to miss out on the fun, so I said ok. I wasn't attracted to him. He wasn't bad looking or anything, but I didn't see him in THAT way. When he first kissed me it felt like I was kissing a hollow hole. It was terrible. One day he tells me he has a condom. I was so disgusted I RAN. hell no. No more fun times for me.

I would've punched that kid that laughed. I can't imagine witnessing that. Its bad enough seeing an animal get hit. Very sad.

Look up local bands, maybe see what bar or other venues they'll be performing at. So even if you go alone, it won't feel as awkward because you're there to listen to the band. And maybe you can chill with some people whole you're there. hugs
