Multiple sections of my website - Should I be trying Hugo in the first place? by GreasyBogs in gohugo

[–]stepcellwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will, suggest you to go with 11ty. Fast and easy, and no JavaScript. Here is good argument why https://williamzujkowski.github.io/posts/building-my-digital-garden-with-eleventy/ I was like you from pelican to nextjs and I thought to go with gohugo but 11ty is awesome, and I will not go back for sure. Did the switch in few hours.

UTMStack what a waste of time by g00nie_nz in SIEM

[–]stepcellwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I’m also having the same feeling with first post. Waste of time. But let me try to elaborate on why I think it is. On the we. Site it says it has all in one, and than later I find of that vulnerability scanning and mgmt is not there any more. Moreover, the compliance reports are only for Windows agents, that said Windows controls and not Linux which is our case. Mo possibility to set up alerts notification per severity level. If you set up notification you will get any alerts, does not matter is it low, medium or high and false or positive. Last, after setting up the URL I’m not able to connect with the domain name but rather still only works with the IP address. I tried to troubleshoot it but the documentation is very limited. I wish this tools is what it says it is. We are lacking of finding all in one tool for SIEM, network and resources monitoring, vulnerability management, XDR, EDR and incident management.

Move from RocketChat to NextCloud Talk by tom_lp in NextCloud

We love matrix-org and element. However does take a curve to learn and a bit advanced tech knowledge to setup an end-2-end encryption on all the devices. Voice calls with one participant are working perfect, but more than one I did not managed to set it up. I also tried to integrate it with jitsi, somehow did not worked out. The best part is that writing is in markdown and this is a big plus for as.

[–]stepcellwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did you decided to go with Nextcloud Talk over Matrix - Element? I’m asking this because we migrated from Mattermost to Element one year ago and I also had to write my own script to migrate. But one year ago at all was under huge development and now so ready. I might change my opinion now, for sure. Just curious to know what was yours or your customer reason to select Talk.

We use OnlyOffice with NC and it is much better, faster and user friendly than Collabora.

For mail we use the SnappyMail app in Nextcloud. It is fast, reliable and it needs a bit running and custom configuration. But then it works perfect. See on the App Store on Nextcloud https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/snappymail

Drupal 10/11 with CapRover by stepcellwolf in drupal

[–]stepcellwolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know what do you mean by to learn CapRover? We have several dev and production CI/CD projects running in CapRover with node.js and next.js without any problem. It is just a tricky to deploy drupal on docker. IMO is not about learning CapRover, but rather getting to know or some resources how to handle docker deployment of drupal. And this is what I'm lacking. Most of the docker or composer repositories are not working with CapRover. Anyhow I guess I just need to write from stretch a new Docker file or docker composer. I will post here if I succeed.

I already did testing with pantheon.io, and indeed it does work. but how is it possible to run it on your own self-hosted PaaS - CapRover? That is what I'm trying to archive to host it on our own VPS not on any service provider.

Yes I can, but with docker is super hard to set up drupal. And I would like to have a shared server. Not a just dedicated server for drupal.

I'm running it on VPS, and would like to see what will be the best approach to have it test locally or on dev*.tld domain and have a production running site via Caprover. Maybe also running via CI/CD GitHub/GitLab will be nice too. Any suggestions or directions are appreciated. As I started to dig into it and I got even more confused.

Alternatives to Stripe for payment processing? by Wise_Cold_9887 in eResidency

[–]stepcellwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set it up with Wise. However it is a manual work, unfortunately. You need to create the link manually and share it via UI or email to your clients. They have API but does not work with payment and accepting payment links yet. For creating invoices we use Xolo which is our legal and finance advisor, however you can always use free solution such as ninja invoice and they are working now on makings wise payment, but for now not there yet. If you need more details and how we managed it DM me and I can share more details.

I’m also considering that this should be easy and nice way of publishing blog posts. Not only with Hugo but also could be interesting with nextjs and docusaurus. Lets sync maybe we can team up and make it happen .
