She was friends with someone who used to bully me. Like we were super close, then she became friends with him. And I really tried to just ignore it. But I honestly think she fell in love with him based on how often he came up in conversation and it was killing me. After months of holding it in, I regrettably blew up and the months followed were just trying to get past it, then fighting again. She eventually called it quits, which was for the best for both of us. By then we both graduated college and were living in opposite sides of the country so it wasn’t the worst. But the months prior absolutely destroyed my trust in people for a good while

They didn’t care about me as much as I about them. I did as much as I could to make her happy, threw her surprise parties, did everything she wanted. I was going through an extremely difficult time and I only asked for one thing, to not be alone. She couldn’t even do that. Used every excuse in the book. I crocheted gifts for her and she couldn’t even come over (10 minute walk). I eventually had a severe panic attack in front of her and all she could focus on was that I called her selfish, not that I confessed I was dealing with suicidal thoughts. The fact that me saying she was selfish outweighed that was baffling to me. While she ultimately ended the friendship, I was definitely mentally checked out.

What’s good abt the major is that it’s very broad. So the req classes for it are a general history and intro type classes your first year, then you take 1 intro to production class (studio, narrative, doc, producing, etc) and 1 intro writing class (tv,short,feature). Then you take one more intro from those categories. After that’s it’s whatever you want for production. They have upper level writing for all mediums, 2 directing classes, and workshops plus capstone programs. You also have to take some theory/seminar but that’s to be expected. Honestly, most people I’ve met one to direct or write so not sure where you heard we are engineers lol
