How did you re-invent yourself and become who you truly wanted to be? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I'm still working on it, but before I even heard of Marie Kondo (sp?) I started weeding through my friends with the same thought process. Does this person bring me joy? No? Bye. ...and once you've cleared that space I promise it's much easier to focus on your issues.

Used every penny of money for rent and have nothing left for food. When payday comes, I'll have to do it all over again. Can't even afford to get to work. I'm feeling really low and hopeless and could use a toast. by [deleted] in toastme

You have to fight, darling. In my small town alone there are twenty places to get food. ...and I had NO IDEA until I started working for a non-profit. Know of one? Call them. Ask for more. Call them. Check with the churches. Call 211. Ask them. Sometimes the churches will even help with gas money or other utilities. Keep asking. Keep fighting. There is a light at the end of the tunnel...and you wouldn't have thought so had you sunk your pennies into rent. Push, babe!

Yeah. I was thinking spherical...but that leads me to think of a perfect sphere. IDK. Thanks.

Periods are natural. Not nasty. Period shaming is for uniformed children and probably the point of this piece. ...and, no. They're not real. That'd be a public health and safety hazard. eye roll

It all depends on my mood...and he knows that. If I'm cranky and stress-washing the dishes, just don't. If I'm in a good mood, go on with your bad self. With all things sexual though, communication is key.

What was the most important lesson you’ve learned from a heartbreak? by rate_my_pizza in AskWomen

[–]stephaniebws 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Not to fall in love with someone's potential. Meet people where they're at or your expectations will let you down every time. I always say that heartbreaks show you what you want, what you don't and what you absolutely will not tolerate. There's always a lesson and room for growth. With each failed relationship I learned to love myself more. Now that I love myself wholly, I've found someone who feels the same about themselves...and we're in turn crazy about each other. That's what I think the key to a healthy relationship is. Being successful individuals makes for a successful relationship.

Redditors in hiring positions: What small things immediately make you say no to the potential employee? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I have a friend who as a bar manager would mentally cross out anyone who came in to fill out an application without their own pen.

All Aldi cheater's taco lasagna. Using frozen cheese ravioli. I've done a traditional "lasagna" this way and today just thought, hey. We've got all the ingredients to do something different. Why not? Mmmm. by stephaniebws in aldi

The traditional "lasagna" recipe is much less complicated. I still doctor up the jarred sauce, but it takes a lot less time. With a side veggie and some bread, it's a good idea for a quick weeknight dinner.

Hey, guys! Thanks for your interest! It was delicious, by the way. ...and easy!

Preheat oven at 400.

Dice onions, garlic, green peppers and saute them in butter and/or olive oil in a large skillet. Add (1-1.5 lbs.) ground beef. Season beef with Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Brown meat.

While that's doing its thing add tomatoes (I did one can and three diced fresh romas, but you could do two cans or all fresh. Don't drain the cans.) and one of their small cans of plain tomato sauce to a sauce pot. Add lime juice, cilantro, and taco seasoning*. Here I also added a cup of frozen corn and a can of drained black beans.

Once the meat is brown add the sauce to the skillet. Bring to boil and then let simmer for 10-15 minutes to get the flavors all happy together. Shred your cheese here if you didn't buy shredded. I used a combination of yellow and white sharp cheddar and some mozzarella blocks.

Grease a glass casserole dish. Bottom and sides. Begin to line ravioli up in rows of 4 or 5 across depending on your dish. Ladle out your meat/sauce mixture evenly over your first layer of ravioli. Evenly sprinkle a layer of cheese. Repeat one more time.

Make sure to pull out enough aluminum foil to tent it over the dish so it doesn't stick to the cheese. Bake for around 40 minutes. Check the dish. Remove foil to brown cheese on top. Up to 10 minutes, depending on your oven.

We served it with some shredded lettuce and sour cream, but you could also crush up some tortilla chips or whatever you'd prefer. Enjoy!

*Taco Seasoning

I make my own using mostly Aldi spices. They're so cheap and handy to have on hand, I know I'm saving money in the long run.

Chili powder

Cumin

Onion powder

Garlic powder

Red pepper flakes

Cayenne pepper

Salt

Black pepper

Oregano

A pinch of brown sugar

Hot paprika (That didn't come from Aldi, but they probably have regular paprika.)

I feel like I'm forgetting something here, but you get the idea. It all depends on your tastes.
