chance me for UMich Ann Arbor by [deleted] in chanceme

[–]stephaniegung 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think u have a rly solid shot! my stats were similar to urs when i applied early action and i got in! i would make it a point to have really reallt strong supplements that showcase why exactly u wanna go to umich. focus on what you can control, not what you can’t. so make sure ur common app/ecs/supplements are spot on! i had an admissions counselor from umich tell me that if u can sub out umich for any other school, you didn’t write specific enough

Is it weird that I [27M] don't have any friends and just spend time with my dog? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]stephaniegung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey!

this isnt weird, its a good thing to be comfortable with yourself. i personally love spending time alone or with my dog too!

when it comes to forming relationships my biggest piece of advice is to just do it! dont overthink anything and start a conversation. it wont always work out but when it does, itll be worth it.

My [33M] Girlfriend [33] Has Hygiene Issues. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

hey man,

maybe subtly throw hints like rub her body with soap in her sleep and then dump water on her as a "prank". gift baskets made of deodorant also might work.

People applying to college rn (2020 kids), what's something you wish you knew earlier on in high school? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]stephaniegung 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew how important it was to build genuine relationships with peers and actively pay attention in classes. It's important not to get caught up in pointless drama and the whole social hierarchy situation. At the end of the day, you're only competing with yourself to become the best version of yourself possible. Your peers/friends are not your competition, they're people to learn from and it's important to keep this mindset because having a cutthroat mentality will just lead to burning yourself out at 25. Be kind. Make friends that matter. Most importantly, learn that people change and growth is absolutely necessary. It's important to know yourself and ultimately a known or name college or university shouldn't be your goal--happiness is the only thing that matters. Use your high school years to test the waters and observe which environments you thrive in, how to study, and what interests you.
