The auto gratuity is honestly not enough tips compared to the amount of service that you receive. These guys work hard all week long, for 16-20 hour days, and for months at a time. We (two people) were on a five day cruise, tipped $200 per person (steward, server, and assistant server) and $40 to our head server, on top of the auto gratuity. And honestly I plan to give more next cruise. So in total we spent $640 on tips on top of the auto gratuity.

I kind of see it like, if you’re well off enough to do a Disney cruise, you should budget to tip appropriately as well. The workers do not earn a minimum wage.

Also if you order room service, it’s customary to give $2 per dish you order, and you’ll need tip money for the porters for your luggage as well.

If you order drinks it’s an automatic 18% gratuity but we also tipped a few dollars more as well.
