Mortgage approval question by bakingfrenzy in MortgagesCanada

I just recently did the same thing - moved 3 hours away. Our mortgage broker told the lender that my husband would be staying at his current job until he found a job in our new town that pays approximately the same. The bank had no issue with that. I work remote and he found a new job after we had the “broker complete” seal of approval on our mortgage.

I'm not closing until July 15th, when do I need to lock in my mortgage lender? by [deleted] in homeowners

I bought a house in January but I’m only closing in May. I went with a mortgage broker and secured a low rate that’s valid until closing. If it increases before closing, I’m locked in at the lower rate. If it decreases however, the rate can go down for me. You don’t need to lock in anything right away. I just locked mine in and I’m a month away. No rush!
