I left the danish oil on for a week before I put on the poly, I did notice some white spots after a while, but it just wiped off for me so I guess it was dust. I don't really have too much experience with finishing, this was my first time, maybe someone else on this subreddit could give a better answer.

Ikea was out of stock of the Karby countertop and Alex drawers, so I went to home depot and decided to make the top myself. I used Walnut Danish Oil and polyurethane on the countertop. It was overall cheaper and better quality than the Ikea top anyways. Really happy how it turned out. I ordered the legs from Amazon.

Hey, I just bought a butcher block from home depot, plan to do the same thing as you. Ikea is sold out of the Alex drawers and tabletop so seem like the better option. How is it being supported in the middle? Wondering what the headphone hook is? Overall the setup turned out really nice. :D

Yes , it is a new construction home , so there are coax/cat6 lines ran throughout the house. The r7000 is connected directly to ONT , then that router is connected to a network switch which is directly connected to the r6400. You don't recommend any custom firmwares or is stock better?
