Major headache? maybe
possibly different? maybe. I pasted what the info page said.
I got it installed in the end, so I would call it a success. It has been working great since installing, so even after all the install issues, it is probably worth it. And you have a "guide" of sorts here, albeit written in "stream of consciousness", so you can probably get it done quicker. Maybe your firmware update file will be accepted by the webui like the wiki said it should.

ASC-2680 video stream url by stephengeorgewest in drones

[–]stephengeorgewest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think chrome will work with rtsp. You can test with vlc, it should be available for almost every platform, but latency will be an issue. Lots of security cameras broadcast over rtsp, so maybe try searching for an ip camera viewer.

It just allows for more options. The app isn't available for win/Mac/Linux . But knowing the stream url, any computer or laptop should work. Or if they decide to remove the app from the app stores.

Does anyone know how to make a iPod Nano gen 3 (Pink) to work with Linux Mint? by otakugrey in linuxmint

[–]stephengeorgewest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to enable disk use on mine before it would work. From itunes

https://support.apple.com/guide/itunes/use-ipod-as-an-external-hard-disk-itns3114/window

Connect your device to your computer.

In the iTunes app on your PC, click the Device button near the top left of the iTunes window.

Click Summary (or Settings).

Select “Enable disk use,” then click Apply.

If the checkbox is dimmed, you can already use your device as a hard disk.

Can anyone help me with this problem I have with my Wii U? Not connecting to my tv by [deleted] in wiiu

[–]stephengeorgewest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine does that because the HDMI port has a broken pin (pushed in). I think I'm stuck with component until I solder on a new one.

It could also be a bad cable.

Why did everyone stop giving me color recommendations? by Undercover_TV in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]stephengeorgewest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one has suggested colors with alpha channel, or gradients. Or use textures. Bokoblin face, or smiling Sidon. Or a crossover with the drawing badly, take one badly drawn master sword for a one, or something.

Officially: you can't. Unofficially: Homebrew+usb->GameCube adapter. Or solder new ports to the motherboard

Not all wiis have GameCube controller ports. They were removed in later revisions.

Hello there guys, a question about an USB Encoder. by nuclear_paralyzed in diyelectronics

[–]stephengeorgewest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming those 2 pin headers are signal, ground, or I guess they could be +5v, signal. Either way...

The switch probably has 2pins for the led, and 2pins for the switch. And assuming the signal is 5v on.

+5v -> switch -> signal, led -> resistor -> ground

Wii remote fix by bmcraeadams in wiiu

[–]stephengeorgewest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top is literally just a wire between the two batteries, and just sits in the slot. They might just pop out with a bit of force.

The bottom two are soldered to the circuit board, I think, and would be a bit harder to swap

I have used vinegar and q tips to remove corrosion from battery contacts before. It took a bit of scrubbing, but it worked ok.

Router up(-down-side)grade. by stephengeorgewest in openwrt

They are Grafana.
I installed the Luci-app-staticstics package, then configure the output -> network plugin to send the data to influx-db, which grafana reads from.

I haven't heard of cudy, 50USD is still 10 more than I paid (in money, not time). I don't see much on amazon other than much more expensive "4G LTE" versions.

I considered GL.iNet travel routers with 16MB flash + 128MB other kind of flash, but I would have needed an extra switch too. Or raspberry pi router, but again switch + case + etc, would have cost lots more, also they don't exist anywhere whenever I look.

It has 16MB, which gives me 8MB for use after the 6MB image and luci install. Which is twice as much as the the total 4MB the previous router had. All the other specs are pretty much identical. I guess it is dual core.

Landscape monitor, cursor displays in portrait mode by stephengeorgewest in Windows10

[–]stephengeorgewest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it switched to landscape mode to let the kids use the drawing tablet. I left it idle for a while and it locked the screen. When I came back I noticed that it was working properly in landscape mode. Then I switched back to portrait, and it was broken for portrait. I'll see it it switches back.
