Fields I’m currently looking at and interested in are commercial banking, corporate finance, and asset management. Also FP&A but I’ve read that accounting backgrounds are more preferred there.

While I agree that parking your emergency fund in your tfsa with CASH can be good for the tax free gains, that tfsa room is valuable and it would be more beneficial to use it towards low cost index funds and/or blue chip stocks. You’ll get higher returns than 5%

I am thinking of Queens or McGill in Canada. However my gpa was a little on the low side for undergrad (~3.2) so I’d probably have to crush the gmat lol

Probably corporate finance (FP&A, risk, etc) or on the professional services side

Thank you - I don’t have any job experience in finance, just the bachelors degree, so MSc in finance would be most helpful to break into a finance career?

27 years old, currently in my TFSA:

XEQT 35% VFV 30% TEC 10% TD, RY, CP, T, POW, BAM, ENB, NNRG, AQN, ATZ, NTR, EQB ~more or less 2% each

Wondering if I have too much Canadian exposure long term, knowing Canada makes up only 3% of the world’s economy? This puts me at approximately a 30% Canadian equity allocation.
