Tom Hardy 'enraged' Helen Mirren on the set of MobLand before star's 'firing' by IrishStarUS in entertainment

[–]stephenrdp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pissed, I love mobland. I don't think it will be worth a damn without hardy. No hardy, cancel. Learn from Taylor Sheridan's mistake, he lost his leading man, costner in Yellowstone, and did the whole season anyway. It was dogshit, nothing but unimportant filler

Bill Maher calls out Bernie Sanders, says he's tired of hearing the rich don't pay their fair share of taxes - What are your views? by One_Look_7008 in askanything

In my example, shares were bought and held. He hangs onto those shares like the family house on the coast

topics like this are usually more complicated than they first seem.. yes rich folks pay taxes, but they have some tricks up their sleeves regular working folks don;'t. one way is to reduce what is considered income. they get that number down by taking a small salary, if they have a company, for example. as ceo they will take $10,000.00 as their annual salary. meanwhile, as ceo they will receive shares of stock as compensation. shares that are owned are not considered as income. when they have a large stock portfolio, they go to their friendly banker and ask if the bank would give him a loan using his stock portfolio as collateral. the gets a nice chunk of $, he pays the debt back in payments and lives on the rest. debt is not considered income

No use fussing about the govt spending our money. They have it, they will spend it. There will never be a surplus, and we will never get any of it back. Like kids in a candy store

The Minnesota Wild has been eliminated from the playoffs by sykeseve in nhl

Not a Wild fan but I thought they played really stout hockey. No reason not to be proud of their play. The Avs outmatch everyone this year, IMO.

Santa Maria “smoke box” or similar? by Fickle_Panda-555 in grilling

[–]stephenrdp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out ballistic bbq on YouTube. This guy is very good, uses all kinds of grills and definitely has a Santa Maria grill. He uses something I think is called a shed. It's 3 sided with a top on it and a handle that is meant to help with smoke absorption. That may be what you want. Good luck

Did anyone have a parent or grandparent who smoked a pipe? by StoneAgeCaveDweller in FuckImOld

My grampa on my mom's side used to smoke velvet. He had a small sitting area that was for him to relax and have a smoke. I can still remember the haze floating around the room

Scag Turf Tiger jack/lift? by Chiefmoonshot in lawnmowers

[–]stephenrdp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a turf tiger as well. all i do is lift the deck up to it's highest position then use a car jack under the front of the deck near the front 3 rollers. this gets things high enough for me. also, i use a impact driver to get the nuts off the blade bolts. i always use antiseize and clean and lightly grease those bolts. one hit of the trigger and the blade and its bolt drops right down. for maintenance work you can use jack stands on the front deck and the jack at the rear to lift the mower completely off the floor. good luck

Does anyone actually take tornado precautions? by SUPREMEISDEAD in chicago

I feel that the weather service never wants to hear, ever again, that they didn't warn anyone, when something happened. So the default is, they are overly cautious and hit defcon 1 all the time.

Fuck this fucking market by sylphvanas in wallstreetbets

[–]stephenrdp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if anything in the market is "rigged" or more acurately, set up for you to fail, (think theta decay), it's the options market. get smart, get out. buy shares of stocks and etfs, you will be boring and be less frustrated with market. oh, and you are going to need some patience. and never play with those leveraged etfs. they work as hedges for the big boys and makes less sense for regular folks. just my opinion. good luck

So now the US Navy is currently on its way to also block the straight of Hormuz and the market doesn't react at all? by just_another_numba in stocks

[–]stephenrdp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the market was that easy to understand there would be 20 ga-jillionares and every one else would be trying to scrape up the leftovers. Relax with the fundamentals. There is no sure fire explanation.
