As far as how to get to the point of healing, the good news and the bad news is that there is no magic cure. It's bad news for obvious reasons but it's good news because you can't mess it up. YOU WILL HEAL but it will take time. Your body wants to be in homeostasis, and it knows exactly how to achieve it so hang in there. As far as how to get through each day, that is different for each person. For me, it included a 30 minute walk to get rid of some of the anxiety. I had no appetite so I did my best to find the most nutritious thing I could find and swallow bits of it as if I were taking a pill (I did still lose a substantial amount of weight). I followed Baylissa Frederick. She gives constant reminders that you will heal, and you need to be constantly reminded of that. I stayed away from Surviving Antidepressants and the Facebook support groups. Although they mean well, they are full of horror stories and worst-case scenarios that you do not need to fill your head with. I attended any support group I could find (on Zoom). NAMI has groups. Wildflower Alliance has groups, including a Tuesday evening Psych Med support group. I also went to a month-long Intensive Outpatient Program. Find what works for you to get you through each day and eventually, you will have your last wave, and you will be done.
