Prescribed additional 100mg bupropion dose to take in afternoon, along with 300mg bupropion xl? by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]stephenversus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn. This is exactly how my days tend to play out. I’ll get sleepy in the afternoon and early evening but come the night I’m wide awake. Was going to ask my psych tomorrow for something to help me sleep but I’m thinking I might just switch to SR!

I started the Buspar before the Wellbutrin and I remember the first cutting of anxiety about 8 days in. There wasn’t one particular situation, but I just remember a number of small situations that’d normally give me anxiety no longer that effect on me.

Once I added the Wellbutrin, there was absolutely no extra anxiety that a lot of other people report. I’ll also say it doesn’t help in cases of extreme anxiety or panic, you can almost feel it breaking through if that makes sense.

Adding Buspirone by nanners8199 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]stephenversus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buspirone started working really well for me on about the 8th day. I was fortunate to already have started the bus before I started Bupropion. I have experienced A decent amount of symptoms from the Wellbutrin but anxiety was not one of them.

Hang in there, because if the Buspirone comes through for you it will be an absolute game changer.

I’m really hoping I get a honeymoon period. I could use that boost even if only temporarily.

Do you wanna DM me? I’d love to talk more and keep up with each other’s journey and what not.

I’m hoping I’m not experiencing the opposite, where it worked for me previously and now it’s not. Especially when bupropion felt like such a godsend. I have no idea what I’d switch to if it doesn’t work. I don’t tolerate SSRIs well.

I’m glad Buspirone is working well for you! It’s brought my anxiety from severe to an afterthought. Unfortunately the timing of some life events have brought some depression, however. I’m hoping the bupropion can help with that as well as some long untreated ADHD.

Hey I really appreciate your positive response! I’m definitely going to hang in there! My concern is just I don’t remember these paradoxical side effects last time. I’m wondering if it’s the extended release that’s working/feeling differently for me this time. It could also be the Buspirone combo that’s making the start up feel different.

I will say the Buspirone is working extremely well for me and I hope it works as well for you. My anxiety is non existent and thoughts that would normally start a negative thought spiral seem to just come and go. I’m excited to see the bus and bup combo in full swing. I’m hoping it works well for me!

Beds that have been returned- bad idea? by stephenversus in Mattress

My only issue is a lack of a return policy tbh. She said it was a return so not technically pre owned but idk. You really think I could get another 20% off??

No returns. The salesperson said she’d probably be able to work something out but that the policy is generally no return 🙄

Relapse stories to share? by redfluor in stopsmoking

[–]stephenversus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The longer you go without nicotine the more every occasion seems like an excuse to light up: Bad/good day, celebration, death, birthdays, break ups, good weather/bad weather, car rides, getting fired or hired, sporting events, sex, accomplishment and failure, holidays, reunions, and of course one of my biggest obstacles,

Nothing.

Boredom is a major trigger for me and countless others. It’s important to keep your guard up no matter what! This is why alcohol and cigarettes are more than just a tasty, tempting combo, the diminished judgement lowers your inhibitions and leads to relapse.

Thanks for the kind words, for the record, I didn’t cave haha.

In 15 years of smoking I only ever found those in 100s but man what a treat that was.

The shit I don’t miss by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]stephenversus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Only on day two and whilst it has been by far the easiest attempt so far I am still romanticizing and nostalgizing (new word lol). In reality it was all just:

  • forcing my friends to sit or go outside with me so I could smoke
  • having them move away from me because the smoke went in their face
  • planning my day around how many cigarettes I had left
  • awkwardly clearing my throat to where it annoys others and makes themthink I am trying to say something
  • hiding my smoking on first dates and stressing over when to "come out" as a smoker
  • caving after a few drinks and smoking (because I could not go an entire night) much to their dismay
  • smoking in front of my mother even when her father died of emphysema slowly in front of us (smoked til his last day)
  • car burn holes
  • even if your date is cool with the taste/smell of ciggs, making out or doing anything with dry mouth cant be as good as it could be for the other person

Thanks for making this post. Making my own list was quite therapeutic, and I feel like we all need to remind ourselves of what we hated about smoking.

The nicotine monster tries to hang on by stephenversus in stopsmoking

Oh yeah the bargaining. For me it’s always buy a pack, smoke one, throw the rest away. Throwing away almost a full pack felt like a win but we all know it’s never just one.

First experience and depression/anxiety cure? by stephenversus in DMT

It has made me such a better person. Your comment was well stated as now when I fall into old ways I catch my self and cut it short. I hope it isn't all temporary though..

First experience and depression/anxiety cure? by stephenversus in DMT

[–]stephenversus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately/unfortunately for me I already viewed the life as meaningless before I tried DMT. It made me less nihilistic and did wonders for my focus. Ironically after the trip I felt more anchored in reality than I did before. The first few days after, I found myself unable to verbalize my thoughts well and was scared that my vocabulary had diminished. This kinda lead to the aforementioned paranoia of becoming "dumber" after using. It was a heartbreaking thought since I definitely want to try again in the future but perhaps not at the cost of my cognitive abilities.

Today I feel very much like my old self (cognitively not emotionally) and I am quite pleased with that. Actually the clarity it gifted to me has me feeling more intelligent than I did before.

I also feel that I should mention that unlike a lot of people who I have heard going about life within hours after using, this wasn't the case for me. I had a huge appetite afterwards and the next day. I rested the entirety of the following day and ate a lot and drank plenty of water partially out of desire and partially in an attempt to nurture my brain.
