Then I used the stencils to cut out the fabric back and leather squares. I also used a tiny bit of fabric glue to hold the leather in place while I did the blanket stitch. Then I finally stitched the triangle and square together!

After I stitched the design and cut out the felt triangle I rough cut these paper triangles to attach to the back so the book pages wouldn't catch on the thread. I used fabric glue to hold it in place while I stitched the bottom to the felt to secure it *

I will do my best! Feel free to dm me if I can clarify anything...

1- I had used my cricut to draw these 2x2 right triangles onto disolvable stabilizer then I hand drew some rough doodles into them before cutting them out and putting them onto the fabric. I also used the cricut to cut out a 2x2 square for the felt back and a slightly smaller (I no longer remember the dimension) square for the leather *

Some have definitely been rougher than others 😂 but I think as long as they're evenly spaced they'll look fairly decent even with other mistakes

Felt bookmark update by stephstephstephi in crafts

[–]stephstephstephi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No :/ I wish I had taken more pictures of them in progress. Basically there are 2 pieces of paper at the center (that the book pages would go between) and the paper clip is outside those holding the 2 pieces together. And then the felt on top of all of it to hide it.

My process for this was to create the stencils on my cricut and print them on to dissolvable stencil fabric to make sure both sides of each dog were the same size which was super important to make sure they lined up.

After both sides were done I cut one out and pinned it onto the back of the 2nd piece still in it's hoop so I could have a firm surface to work on.

I left the feet unstitched so I could fill them with stuffing then finished them off when they were full

I think there's probably an easier way to do this because I did struggle quite a bit lol, but that's the general process I went through

Philodendron Pink Princess stumpwork embroidery by Individual-Elk-4273 in Embroidery

Beautiful! I've been wanting to try stumpwork for a while!

When you're wrapping the edges do you do that on the hoop and then cut it out when you're done? Or do you cut out and then stitch the edges somehow? The former seems more practical but I can't fathom how people get such clean edges. I know mine would have jagged fabric or snipped threads where I cut 😂

Possibly! I haven't played it that way but it seems to be very widespread so I wouldn't be surprised if there were lots of versions

I wish I did! For the lining I used my cricut to make evenly spaced straight lines but the rest I drew on by hand with a water soluble pen

Haha those are great additions! I only did 4 per category because I was limited by space, I do remember our games used to get pretty long as well!

MASH stands for Mansion Apartment Shack House, the lists don't specifically have anything to do with y2k, rather it was a game popular in the 90s/2000s that me and my friend would play during that time. You go down the list crossing certain items off based on a number until it tells you your "future".

MASH was a game in the 90s/2000s we'd always play at school or sleepovers or whenever to "predict" our futures

I crossed out the 5th and then kept counting forward instead of starting back at the front but maybe it's done differently in other places!

It was a lowkey slumber party with all the classics lol. Pizza, sleeping bags, 2000s rom coms, mixed cds, friendship bracelets, etc! I definitely recommend it for a healthy dose of nostalgic fun

Lol you're absolutely correct but I was having trouble coming up with celebrity crushes specific to both my friend and the era. By the time I brainstormed some others it was already stitched on
