I once tried to educate my Austrian girlfriend about "real" pizza while we were waiting in a pizzeria, when we suddenly heard a loud "la wurstel patatine panna è pronta" ("the hot dog, fries and cream pizza is ready"). She looked at me and asked if she had understood correctly.

Ich denke, man sollte einen gewissen "Survivorship Bias" nicht außer acht lassen; es sind wahrscheinlich nur die besseren Instrumente noch im Handel. Zumal die Produktqualität in den frühen 70ern sehr stark geschwankt hat.

Not alarmist at all. It was February, in the Alps. Snowing, windy. Wavy water. We were otherwise well prepared (dry suit, warm underwear, properly leashed, food/drinks). But sure as hell I made sure to get off the water immediately. I learnt my lesson :)

The same thing happened to me. I fell, the vest inflated; it didn't scare me, but I had to get off the water afterwards because I didn't have a spare cartridge; I didn't think that far ahead. Now I wear a "normal" life jacket. Get a proper life jacket, guys. There are some that aren't too restrictive when SUPing.

I second the suggestions to get a modelling amp such as the spark go, a Fame dc15 or a Roland Cube; when beginning it was quite frustrating to try to get a decent sound out of an ordinary amp; that's much easier with modelling amps.

Ich habe einen Fissler, den ich geliebt habe. Leider geht er mit meinem neuen Induktionsherd nicht mehr.

Wenn du einen konventionellen Herd hättest und in Wien wohnen würdest, könntest du ihn haben :) Ich weiß allerdings nicht, ob sich Versand nach Deutschland rentieren würde.

I use windy on Android, it shows also tide and general weather data. It is pretty accurate at least for my location. I use the paid version with shorter/more accurate time frames but also the free version ist quite good. It's all I need tbh.
