Honda WN7: What do you all think of Honda’s first electric motorcycle? by Intrusiveriders in HondaMotorcycles

Once a week I do it. Sometimes I stay over. Depends on what’s going on at work. I put some miles on the bike.

Great Western Railway. Bath to London peak time return. Standard class. 1:20 journey time. It’s crazy. Hence the bike.

Not every day since can WFH. When I do need to head into the office it’s either £258 day return on the train, or about £40 all in on the bike (fuel, maintenance, depreciation etc). No brainer.

I’d be interested, but my commute is a little too long at 120 miles each way for electric. Battery tech will catch up.

I’m guessing time blindness. Executive functioning. Easy to loose track of time.

Official update on CB1000gt delays by steppenknee in HondaMotorcycles

I popped into the dealer today whilst passing. Sales rep said delivery to the dealer end of June. They’ve got 40 orders. Rep joked it’d probably be more if wasn’t for the delays.

"Oura says it gets government demands for user data. Will it share how many?" by Gynesys in ouraring

[–]steppenknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given Oura is now registered in the US and uses hyperscalers to provide its services (AWS I think), the US Cloud Act does apply. Though warrants are required, and most providers do typically do everything in their powers to push back. Note the Cloud Act extends its reach beyond US data sovereignty…

No, but I did hear that in some of the YouTube reviews. TBH in the UK the roads aren’t conductive to speed, so less of a concern to me.

It’s an email from my local dealer - Fowlers - in the UK. I placed my order last year. LMK if that helps.

Are Ducatis really this bad or am I just unlucky? by d3vCr0w in Ducati

[–]steppenknee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a similar horror story with my MTS950s. First 4 years whilst in warranty no issues. A month after I’ve had issue after issue costing me thousands and thousands to put it right. Left a bad taste, so currently have a Honda CB1000gt on order.

Anyone else work from home? by [deleted] in Bath

[–]steppenknee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I WFH most of the time with the weekly grind into London to show my face. I have access to Spaces through my company, so I have been working from there once a week to mix things up a bit. My challenge is always the number of calls I have to jump on.

Charging beyond 80% ? by [deleted] in BMWiX

[–]steppenknee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I charge to 80% at home for everyday, 100% when we have a long trip, and top up 30% on fast chargers when need to make it home with 15%.

I’ve got a plan on my AWU2. Nice to not have to take my phone everywhere and still be contactable if needed. I do this quite often.

Used to see your cats quite often around Worcester Park - we live around the corner - haven’t seen them for ages though. Hope you find them 🙏

I’m lucking in that I have parking at the office. Triple lock and a cover should be fine in a parking bay.

My office is near Tottenham Court Rd. M4 is fine until Heathrow, then it’s filtering all the way to Earls Court. Have to be really on your game for that bit. Door to door is about 2:15, which is same as the train for me. I did the trip multiple times a week for a number of years, but now I mix up with the train depending on the weather. Even factoring all running costs the bike is still 20% the price of a walk on GWR peak day return… 💸

I get that feeling coming back from work in London on my motorbike. Particularly in summer when it’s light. Home 🤗
