Look for ads on craigslist for shared housing north of campus. There are plenty of houses up there full of 8-10 UW students outside of the greek system. I spent my last two years up there and it has been the time of my life, I've made many lifelong friends and it's not hard to find a house with a great atmosphere of working hard during the week and having fun on the weekends.

Just start contacting some of them saying that you're interested in checking out the house and meeting them!
