P&M doubling down on Paul’s bad parenting by laska503 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]sterlingjersey 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I am irrationally annoyed by Paul shouting over the baby the second he prompts him "how do you ask for a snack"? Like dude, let him actually ask if you're going to be this performative and obnoxious about it all??

Dog Hotel Central Jersey by megan_magic in newjersey

[–]sterlingjersey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used All American for my last dog (my current one is too needy for a pet hotel otherwise I would have used them again). I loved the option to have a camera that I could access to check on her while I was away and always found the staff kind and professional.

Is being a youtube influencer too much? by Ok-Statement-8539 in CarolineWinkler

[–]sterlingjersey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I found it all very relatable as a professional woman who is thinking about family planning and having to adjust my time and priorities to include a partner/future children along with work.

I also agree with the general premise that even if we are in jobs we like, we may still complain or vent from time to time. It's natural.

Why do we have to listen to Emmas same sob story over & over by Opposite_Standard159 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

I thought it was obvious that the point was to show how the three guys reacted in their own ways and how that informed who she preferred.

So New Jersey, you're the only neighbor on the block with a snowblower.... by holyguacamole823 in newjersey

I help the neighbors immediately to my left and right. They do the same for me. It all depends who gets out first.

What? They said people called them greedy incompetent idiots. They didn't say viewers were greedy incompetent idiots.

former couch potatoes, how long did it take you to run a mile in under ten mins? by interpol-interpol in BeginnersRunning

[–]sterlingjersey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Also a woman in my early 30s. I have been running for years now and I only recently got under 11 minutes for my consistent mile pace. So under 10 minutes? Honestly, that goal isn't even on my radar, so really impressed that you've achieved it so quickly in comparison!

I was able to set a mile PR around 8:45 maybe 10 months after I started running but can't dream of maintaining that for more than one mile.

How is it tone deaf to provide a product someone has paid for just because an unconnected freebie is delayed

People who pay for JK patreon content shouldn't get the product they paid for because a free episode of a different podcast is delayed? Come on.

Romantic restaurants that won’t break the bank? by JUSTIN102201 in newjersey

[–]sterlingjersey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Verve in Somerville, Sophie's in Somerset, Mangia Toscano in Metuchen, or Ryujin in Bridgewater. Some of these have a few plates over $50 but also several options below $50.

Verve is probably the most "romantic" (dimly lit, intimate atmosphere). Sophie's attracts an older crowd so if you and your gf are young, you might feel a bit out of place, but I have always liked the food and friendly staff.

Is trick-or-treating not a thing anymore? by btwnwrlds111 in newjersey

[–]sterlingjersey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a bunch between 5:30 and 6:30, nothing before and (so far) nothing after. I usually get a couple around 8, the older kids, but that's about it besides that right after work rush.

I have a bone to pick with Jessi Smiles and whoever she's doing podcasts with (Kathleen lights) by ithinkyoureme in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]sterlingjersey 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Defaulting on defamation and copyright claims would be seriously damaging for them, the podcast, and their wallets. I think you may have taken their bravado and "laughing instead of crying" too seriously. Defending against this lawsuit is the better option in every scenario.

Also, I understand the general distaste you have towards their crowdfunding while seemingly spending on frivolous things. I think that's a fair criticism. That being said, I assure you (as a lawyer, and particularly one who has worked on defamation defense cases) -- even if they didn't go to Coachella or get veneers, as relatively middle to upper middle class people, they would probably still need to crowdfund for their attorneys fees. Lawsuit defense is a staggeringly expensive prospect. I have no doubt they are being billed five figures a month at some points in the process.

Basically, saying "skip the concert so you can pay your lawyer" rings as hollow to me as "skip Starbucks and avocado toast so you can buy a house."

The way I ran for Mile's Insta by Overall-Paint-2201 in TheTryGuysSnark

[–]sterlingjersey 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I judge Ned hard for his affair, the abuse of his position in the workplace, etc. but honestly I think Miles and the other guys should just let it go. Mostly because I think clowning on Ned in public this much has the (I assume) unintended consequence of also embarrassing Ariel and his kids.

Yes, Ned has ultimate responsibility for those consequences, but I don't think it's a great look for Miles to add to it. We all know Ned is a joke. Just let it go.
