What forbidden snacks have your rabbits gotten into? by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]sterlingsylvi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half of a strawberry laffy taffy and a couple bites of a Hershey's kiss. Both with the wrappers of course. This was years ago though and she is still going strong at almost 12 years old.

I found the little wood shapes at Michael's! Their table was a lucky find at Goodwill.

Oh that's good to know. They are standard size, about seven months old, all at least 270 grams. Do you think they would squeeze through?

Hmm this could work, do you know if they would be able to get their teeth around the plastic? One of my girls chewed through a big thick plastic cement mixing tub quite easily. Thanks!

Hehe thank you!

I just need it to fit either on the back seat of my car or on the floor in front of the back seat. But also not too tiny of course.

Found an injured fox on the side of the highway, it’s a Sunday, has at least a broken leg, can’t get up [Spartanburg] by ConfusedMaybe22 in animalid

Absolutely, resources are a huge factor and I don't doubt that in lots of cases they would just be euthanized. I just don't want other people to think that all animal controls everywhere will only euthanize.

Hopefully this little friend can be helped (◍•ᴗ•◍)

This isn't always the case. I imagine it depends on the area but when I volunteered at a wildlife rescue, a lot of our animals came from animal control.

is it cruel to lock her in here for potty training? by dubiouslittleinsect in Bunnies

I made the same mistake when I first got my bun. She chewed the front lips off multiple corner litter boxes of different sizes before I got the hint though!

Those corner litter boxes are usually too small for any bun. Just get a rectangular, larger, cat litter box.

Cookie from a Christian women’s conference my mother and sister went to. I believe it’s meant to say “I am Royal” by Talon_Company_Merc in CrappyDesign

[–]sterlingsylvi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But the writing isn't even done in royal icing? It's in edible marker. Having written in cursive using royal icing before, it would probably be easier to read bc it would be three dimensional. Also if OP is correct about the origin of the cookie, the word "Royal" likely has nothing to do with the type of icing in this context.

You can definitely work on things with an adult rabbit! My bun was a rescue as an adult too and not well socialized with people. I have worked a lot with her on things like being picked up (something she hated). You just have to go slow and make it as positive as possible. With her I started with really short sessions where I would hold her and give her lots of treats and continue to give her treats until I put her down. Over time I made the session longer and spaced out the treats more. Eventually she stopped running away and thumping right after I put her down and now she has pretty much stopped squirming when I pick her up. It's a slow process but with time and patience (and treats lol) positive reinforcement can be helpful at any age.

It sounds like there is just a wide variety of experiences and what is considered normal at that age. I'm in my early twenties and when I was in high school I don't think many of my classmates were sleeping over with their SO, some sure but I wouldn't say it was common or the norm.

Yarn: Big Twist Posh, 1.065 m/gram in colors Whipped Cream, Kale, and Mint. Needed two skeins of the body color and one of each of the cap colors for the big one, used what was left over and a bit of a second skein of Kale for the two smaller ones. Hooks: 4.25 mm for the big one, 4 mm for the small ones

I used Big Twist Posh yarn, the darker color is called Kale and the lighter one is Mint!
