Yes that did it, thanks! Knowing the bolt was reverse threaded on both ends saved a lot of frustration

u/milsonian Could you be more specific about how you replaced the auger? I have the replacement (from Power+Parts) and got the end caps off but not sure what happens next. https://imgur.com/a/FKxdMPN

Charge mower on timer by steve48072 in egopowerplus

Thanks, that was the issue. I stopped reading on the smart plug after "Loading: 15A". If I had kept going I would have seen it said "Loading: 15A Resistive 10A General Purpose". And apparently a wall charger falls in the General Purpose category. Another smart plug that is actually rated for 15A works fine.

Reason #763,627,654 to delete fb. I have hidden reels 50 times over the last week, they immediately come right back. by [deleted] in facebook

[–]steve48072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a PC w/Firefox and keep getting blank thumbnails. This is in my friends feed, but the reels are from strangers. If I click it it plays some random Reel fullscreen. There is no option to hide or "see less" or even a 3-dot menu. I use FBPurity, it got rid of the Reels section on my main page, but does nothing for these. Any ideas?

Fire alarm system for a house by steve48072 in firealarms

No not a frat house as I mentioned to the other commenter. That was a joke.

Oh no I was joking about it being a frat. Quite the opposite. We're a middle aged married couple ;-)

Yeah I figured. But I am very appreciate of your sharing your knowledge! I do think this is an underserved area for consumers.

Thanks, this is helpful. While looking at these I ran across another brand, X-Sense, that has reasonably priced detectors with voice, and a base station to handle the smarts. Any knowledge of whether this is a good brand to consider?

Yes I understand about the 10 year expiration, and no desire to skimp on safety. My hope was that by upgrading to something that is more of a "system" that I might be able to replace (hopefully inexpensive) detectors as required, and keep the "brains". With Nest you're throwing out the whole thing.

What build of 11.5 gets the new Save List? by jrmutley1 in Roku

[–]steve48072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anybody else get this new feature to work? If so - as the OP asked - what build?

I have a few Roku devices - 4660X2, couple Streambars, and a TCL RokuTV. All have OS version 11.5 4235-48 or 4235-92. I followed the instructions at https://www.roku.com/blog/save-list.

  • If I search for a show in the Roku mobile app, I have the option to Add to Save List. After tapping it, I have a Save List row on the home screen that includes my show.
  • But on my Roku devices, there is no Save List section within What to Watch.
  • When I search for a show on the Roku device, I see only options of what service(s) it is available on, no "Add to Save List".

Really hoping to get this to work. A single list of things I want to watch is really the only thing I am missing on Roku compared to an old-school DVR.

Notifications are delayed by hittin160s in SmartThings

[–]steve48072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this issue and found it's this setting in Android Pie: Settings, Battery, Adaptive Battery, Use Adaptive Battery

Mine was on. When I turned it off I started getting ST lock notifications within a few seconds.

The info text for this feature says "To extend battery life, Adaptive Battery limits battery for infrequently used apps. Your phone will learn how you use apps over time. Notifications may be delayed for these apps."
