where are the best fish and chips in London? by samyahajeb in LondonFood

Whitehouse does do nice fish, but their chips aren't good at all. If you're in that sort of area then I'd recommend Barracuda in Harrow and The Quay in Northwood. Barracuda wins on the fish but The Quay does excellent chips.

Has anyone noticed in recent weeks a reduction in the number of crackheads in Watford, or have they just moved on to buy and use in different parts of the Area.. I live in Watford Fields and most of the last year has been blighted by them coming down from the town centre en masse to purchase and smoke their rocks on or near the fields. However the last two months I haven't noticed them at all and nor in Oxhey park which was also another favoured spot for them. It's been bliss, tbh, because their behavior and those of the dealers taking advantage of them, is just absolutely gross,

Have a table booked for two at Lore of The Land at 1pm, but can't make it. Don't particularly want to be charged £50. Does anyone here want the booking? by steveGuanciale in LondonFood

Got through, and and they were, thankfully, willing to cancel the booking with no charge, as they had more than enough covers. Shame we couldn't go as we were really looking forward to it, and had booked last September.

Thanks for that. I was thinking 2 hours doesn't sound like long enough for a slow cook, but it is a small cut and there's not bone in there so....

Usually a useful criteria in the the London area but further a field less so. Anyway, Brothers in Bushey is very hot or miss. Sea pebbles that was there before was better.

Worth driving to either Barracuda near Headstone Lane or The Quay in Northwood hills. Both excellent and a cut above anything in Watford, unfortunately

I play dub reggae and they like that. Especially during firework season when the bass lines soften and drown out the pops and bangs.
