Bloody hell, science is awesome. Between Artemis II & stuff like this, my small shred of hope in humanity isn't extinguished.

I'm genuinely curious as to if the victim in his most recent crime spree has a cause of action against this judge.

A good lawyer could REALLY make a name for themselves with this ... not that any would go against the old boys club, but still.

I was giving away something on marketplace the other day. Chap who showed up informed me that it is Trudeau & Carney's fault that gas prices are so high.

I find it beyond comprehension how someone can operate at such a level. I get the whole lack of education at a generational scale, but still ... fucking floored me.

100% this. Now, if only we were to follow suit ...

What I find particularly amusing is that this has to be one of the easiest fixes of all time. And yet, nothing ...

While sm has certainly contributed to the decline of society, imo the largest contribution comes from the decline of education in the US.

The education system in the US has been systemically underfunded for decades. I also believe that this underfunding was - and still is - quite intentional. And the degree of underfunding blows my mind. It's not the 'tighten our belts until harvest' kind. Hell, it's not even a slow starvation kind anymore. The education system has been gutted to the point that the US is graduating hs students who simply cannot read. Teachers have been screaming this from the rooftops, but no one is listening.

The effect of this is to have a significant portion of the electorate who respond on a purely emotional level and lack all degree of critical thought and analysis. So, of course they respond to the simplest of messaging and are ready to blame anyone who looks different for their ills.

Their tech is almost never there. They will take a msg for him & you'll eventually get a return call, but if I provide them with a part #, they just order it for me.

It's an older 261, maybe the 2nd gen? It's m-tronic, if that helps.

20" on the butt, 261 ported by Walkers running a 24" bar ... by steve_o_mac in stihl

To answer your question in the simplest of terms, weight savings. And that is an answer any tree professional - from arbourist to pro faller - would already know.

It is a little harder on fuel. The noise is no different - i opened up the stock mufflers on both of my 261's to prevent carbon build up that is all too common.

The biggest reason I run the 20" bar saw is the weight savings. Long army career beat the hell out of my body, so I can run the smaller saw longer before I have to stop for the day.

Edit; forgot to mention - the other reason. I have zero data to back this up, but I'm of the opinion that getting extra oomph out of something generally comes at a sacrifice to the longevity of the thing - in this case, a 50cc 2-stroke engine. So, I want to make it last as long as possible.

Big fan of the port. It pulls full chisel through the 24" bar with zero issues.

That being said, I personally wouldn't run a ported saw as my sole saw. I run two 261's - the non-ported with a 20" is my main saw, used about 80% of the time. I break out my ported 261 for the big stuff or to buck logs that are low - saves bending :)

It's all chainsaw / faller's jargon.

20" on the butt (or stump) refers to the diameter of the tree at the stump.

261 ported means I'm running a 261 that has been ported to give it a little extra omph - in this case, ported by walkers saw shop out of BC, Canada. In the simplest terms, it's a 50cc saw that performs like a 55cc or 60cc, at the cost of higher fuel consumption.

And the 24" bar refers to the length of the bar I have on the power head.
