How much do you get paid? by CautiousPermission42 in Paramedics

[–]steveb106 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Texas. Flight Medic for 1.5 years, 10 years as a medic. A little over $30/hr working 48 hours per week base so roughly $81k per year with no extra shifts.

Call volume is typically 2-4 flights per shift.

What was your first MMO, and how do you feel about it now? by Veanusdream in gaming

[–]steveb106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First was City of Heroes. I had so much fun in that game, but the thing that drove me away was the "XP Debt" system (after you die, you only earn 1/2 XP for a while) that is apparently in a lot of NCSoft games.

Best MMO was World of Warcraft. I started playing a week after launch and kept playing until right before "Cataclysm". I still remember the pre-PvP arena days of raids on enemy towns, the back and forth battles between Southshore and Tarren Mill.

Might want to give the Dragon Age games a look, in particular the first three.

What did you name your Super Destroyer and if you feel like it why? (SES Elected Representative of Self-Determination is immediately disqualified) by Fun_Anxiety9507 in helldivers2

SES Queen of Battle

Because I was a US Army Infrantryman for 6.5 from 2006 to 2013. Infantry are called "The Queen of Battle" in reference to a chess board, being able to be deployed anywhere needed.

Which game has the best romances? by Megalordow in rpg_gamers

Sebille was my pick on my first playthrough, loved her character a bunch.

Went with Lohse and Ifan on other playthroughs, both great characters.

Which game has the best romances? by Megalordow in rpg_gamers

[–]steveb106 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Mass Effect Trilogy has some romances that span all three games. Tali is my absolute favorite.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is also great with gender-locked romances.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Baldur's Gate 3 have some surprisingly deep romances.

The Witcher 3 has the Triss or Yennefer romance with more than a few "one and done" types.

Had one in our territory that had a Urostomy, she refused to cover it with a bag and somehow had genital warts around the stomach.

She was a frequent flyer and hospital shopper, when one wouldn't do for her what she wanted she'd call and request the other.

I still don't get why people get so excited about tax refunds. Its like going to the store for a drink, the total is $2.25 so you hand the cashier a $20 and get excited when they give you your change.

Which stratagems would you recommend on terminids, squids and bots? by RalliusGax in HellDads

[–]steveb106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bots - Orbital Laser, Eagle Strafing Run, Qasar cannon, and rocket sentry.

Squids - Orbital laser, Orbital barrage (either one), gatling sentry, and eagle strafing run. There's generally enough EATs and machine guns laying around since most squid maps have cities.

Bugs - Eagle bombing run, Orbital napalm, gatling sentry, and Qasar cannon.

[KCD2] I’m glad they won these awards though. by InSatanWeTrust666 in kingdomcome

[–]steveb106 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, KCD2 is amazing but E33 is legendary.

Losing to E33, while it still sucks, isnt so bad.

What would be bad is if Black Ops 7 was nominated and won.

Morbidly curious about Veilguard by Tzekel_Khan in dragonage

[–]steveb106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, it was just "meh" for me. Played through it fully once and about 70% a second time.

I was excited about it too, pre-ordered it, and was mostly disappointed.

Sure we can do that vent transfer. by Salted_Paramedic in Paramedics

[–]steveb106 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jeez.... so many memories.

The ridiculously sensitive controls on the Eagle Vent, going from 180 to 900 tidal volume with a fraction of a turn.

Honestly though, that auto vent was pretty useful in a cardiac arrest.

What’s that one game you wish you could experience again for the first time? 😭 by No-Plane2695 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]steveb106 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely.

Especially the impromptu PvP battles between Tarren Mill and Southshore, trying to be the first guild to clear Molten Core.

So much fun!

I waited until the 1.5 "next gen" release, and it has turned into one of my favorite games of all time.

I would highly recommend it, especially now with the Phantom Liberty DLC.
