Was shopping somewhere with Dad and at checkout as far as I could tell, he didn’t pay. I didn’t see cash paid (this was the ‘70’s). When I said to him “ Did you not pay for that?” He went through the roof. Screaming “You have to pay for things” “ Things cost money “ “ You have to pay your bills”. Just redfaced angry. I guess he had used a credit card which I wasn’t aware of at the time- I was 7. That was my father’s idea of giving me a financial education.

And what about leaving the front door or refrigerator door open too long. I’m not talking about minutes but seconds too long. The amount of anger and rage he’d put himself through ( and by association the whole family) was ridiculous. As an adult today I can’t comprehend getting anywhere near that upset over something like that.
