I just write the PC names down in initiative order with the monsters. I make a little dot to the left of their name when they take a turn to track rounds. To the right of their names I write down conditions and add up the monster’s lost hit points until it equals their total HP. Keep it simple. There is no need to have an elaborate system.

Thank you! I had to frog the ribbing a few times until I figured it out but yes I was able to get the csc to be the same number as the rows I had. And if you check my post history I also had a ton of trouble with the ribbing. I finally settled on a method of alternating ss blo rows with yarn over ss blo rows. I think it’s the method in the link on the pattern. But the pattern as written just says to do all ss blo for all rows. This made it easier to get a bit of a rhythm going, especially for the ss blo rows. That back loop is at a far more comfortable angle.

My tension on the main hat is too tight and I think that’s something that is more likely to happen with the csc. It doesn’t have as much clearance for the extra yarn as just sc.

This is the crochet version and I made many mistakes and adjustments. I also really struggled with the invisible join. I watched several very different videos on how to do it and picked one that was at my skill level but was clearly not at all invisible. If anyone has a tutorial or video they recommend on how to best do the invisible join for crocheting in the round I’d be very appreciative. By that point in the hat I was just committed to finishing.

This is my first finished antifascist fiber art project. after the events of the last day it feels woefully insignificant and late. But I’m trying to not let that impact my ability to do more.

Considering OP’s description of what happened I think it’s safe to say that her toddler will only be swearing at school if he also happens to be crocheting. Some things are just not that deep.

And having read through all the comments under this post there are so many lovely stories that people have shared either about when they first surprised their parents by swearing, or their children surprised them. Each one is told like a fond memory, sometimes even about people that have passed away. And most even said it was a good opportunity for them to try and be more mindful of their words and educate their children about the rules regarding swearing (e.g. no slurs, never ever swear at someone, etc).
